To the person who has been writing me comments this morning. I take major offense at you talking about my friend who is a private individual and has never run for office. For your information as far as I am concerned, all of you maggots at the S.O. couldn't survive if you licked the manure off his boot heals, because it would be too pure for you. I said before and I will say it again, he is my friend, and will continue to be my friend no matter what any of you think! He has EARNED MY RESPECT!!

The person you are backing for Sheriff, Robert Bridges works for Sheriff Maggot Reed, and his sidekick Chief Deputy Maggot (Captain Visa) Spangler. If he has been working there a long time he has condoned the law being broken, and that goes directly against his sworn duty as an officer of the law, and don't try to tell me that you poor babies didn't know what has been going on all this time. The two dummies couldn't keep a silent fart quiet between them!

I don't trust anyone in the Sheriff's Department. (Tell Me why I Should!) UNDERSTAND?? I do not know, nor do I care to know anyone that has worked there unless they EARN my respect, and I only know of one person who has accomplished that.

Alena Clark gave up everything when she learned how crooked and criminal the S.O. really was. She has EARNED my Respect, and I am PROUD to count her amongst MY FRIENDS!!

How about it Bridges? Have you come close to doing anything like that? Are you willing to even think about doing that? I seriously doubt it.

That alone tells me that he is probably a dupe who is going to be put into the sheriff's race to further the clique's goals. If your really a law enforcement officer who is serious about the law, talk about the criminal activity to the authorities outside RR County, and then we will consider whether you have pretty butterfly wings pasted on a maggot body or not!

The Commenter said he (Bridges) is running against Sheriff Maggot Reed, and that he is against Reed. I know for a fact that Reed fires anyone who is against him. You still working there Bridges?

That tells me a lot. I am also here to tell you that neither he nor Reed have announced to run for sheriff as of 1:24 p.m.12/7/07 because I checked. Probably waiting on one of their "GOOD OLE BOY CLIQUE BUDDIES" to pay the filing fee!!!

The only person who has announced to run for Sheriff is Royce Abbott.

Just wanted to let you know there hasn't been anything done about the family 1942 Farmall tractor that was stolen. After 5 to 6 months there is NO way it'll be found and it's sad that the sheriff draws big bills and doesn't deserve them. You can only expect from the officers what their chief tells them, but on the other hand they could at least talk to my cousin and find out something about the tractor, bush hog, and trailer. Funny thing is, I'm sure the tractor was sold before it left the old home place and someone knows who and where it is.

To this day still has not been investigated . What are they doing besides running up and down the roads? Like yesterday I realize was a holiday, but when does most things happen, there was only one SO officer on for the whole county and it darn sure wasn't the Sheriff or his right hand man!

Really sad what this county has come, too. Once was a very proud place to live in, but the crooks took over and ruined everything.

Of course, they haven't found her jewelry neither, I bet maybe the sheriff has it?

Overspending of Sheriff Cornholio gReed on 2007 budget does not make Sense!

After some careful consideration, the overspending of Sheriff gReed in the 2007 budget does not make sense. Spending occurs only when a purchase order is issued and approved, and the checks approved for disbursement by the Red River County Commissioners Court after each Commissioner looks at the disbursements and purchase orders and approves the expenditure. Those expenditures are also looked at by the County Auditor, Shirley Anderson who then monitors spending and notifies officials that they are not staying within their allotted funds.

So this over spending discovery of Sheriff Cornhuillio gReed by the Commissioners Court in the 11th hour does not make sense, unless all of them knew about the expenditures and approved them, thus all of them would have known that he was overspending his budget.

This is either Gross Mismanagement of Sheriff gReed or a combination of it by the Commissioners Court, and the County Auditor. I know for a fact that the County Auditor Shirley Anderson is not incompetent because she monitors the accounts closely and watches expenditures with the eye of a hawk. So what has transpired??? Could this be another conspiracy to defraud the taxpayers of Red River County on the part of the elected officials, or are they just grossly incompetent or possibly both.

Is it true that one of your young attractive dispatchers was caught in the cell of a Federal Prisoner having intercourse with him? Is it also true that when it was reported to you that you called the young lady in and told her that she had the choice of resigning or being fired? Is it true that once she resigned that you sponsored her personally to the Police Academy? What did she have to give you to get your sponsorship Sheriff gReed?

Didn't she commit a felony Sheriff? You should have put her into jail Sheriff, because she committed a crime!!! Documentation has been passed to our hands from an Elected County Commissioner showing proof that the Red River County Sheriff's Department under Sheriff Terry Reeds control, overspent the Sheriff's Department 2007 budget by $224,124.96. We think that is approximately 25% above what was allowed in the 2007 budget for the S.O. . As soon as the document is placed into my possession, it will be posted. The document shows that the Commissioners Court may have approved the overage to be placed into the 2008 budget as a deficit, after the budget was originally approved. At this time, there are no minutes of the Commissioners Court that shows this approval, but the document is either a work in progress by the commissioners court, or they have once again broken the law by not conforming to the Open Meetings Act. Check back to this location to see the document. It will be posted as soon as I receive it. Either way, the overspending of the S.O. 2007 Budget is a True and Correct Statement as shown by this document

"Massive Voter Turnout" in RR County declares Valerie Kangaroo Varley Winner in Talent Contest!

The votes are in and the passion pink loving County Attorney, Valerie Kangaroo Varley has won the 1st. annual Red River County Talent Show Cartoon Strip. His rendition of "It doesn't matter who's wrong or right, JUST BEAT IT" must have struck home with the voters in the contest who gave him 72 votes or 36%.

As Promised, he will "Star" in his own personal "Life In Red River County" cartoon strip in the near future.

Second place in the contest was taken by Queen Ann, and Doug Smith with 53 votes or 27% singing everyone's favorite from Mr. Rogers, "Its A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood"

Third place was secured by Commissioner Precinct 4, Josef Hausler with 52 votes or 26% and his favorite song "I Got Friends in Low Places.

The runners up are not worth mentioning with their minuscule single digit percentages of 6% and 5%.

We wish to thank all of the entrants for their diligence and perseverance through this last week of voting, and wish all of them broken legs!!!

I was born and raised here like most folks. I have never felt comfortable with our law enforcement. It is scary to know what they could do to you if they knew you well enough. I go to the lake here in town with my grandchildren and they appear out of nowhere and scare my grandkids half to death. It is not the same as riding in Paris Tx. There you feel safe doing your business and coming home to this god awful place. It is sad, very sad. What can you say?

It is sad! Law Enforcement and Justice in Red River County is scary. I know a few people close enough here that we talk about how it feels to leave Red River County to do business, and when you cross over the county line coming back your skin crawls. It's the evil in the county that is doing this. This place is so bad, and it's not just the law enforcement. It is because our law enforcement, justice system, and government officials are corrupt. There are a lot of corrupt, bad people who live in this county, because they are in bed with the government and justice system, to promote the evil. It is the combination of the two that gives you the feeling of dread coming back. The corrupt ones don't feel it because they are evil and corrupt.

You know there is evil here when they glorify a hanging tree, and even put a plaque on it to glorify the last hanging. Killing of any sort should never be glorified, even if it is to stop evil. It is a sad thing, even if it is part of history. We should not forget, but we should also not glorify what was done, and should state it as such.

I know that when I go to Paris, or Texarkana, or anywhere outside this county I feel safe, and like I am in civilization. I am not saying that the other places don't have evil, cause they do. The difference between those places and Red River County is that they attempt to control the evil by laws, and justice that the innocent don't have to fear. Here, they will convict the innocent people, to further their evil. They will persecute and prosecute someone for something they did not do rather than taking the time to investigate and do what is right. This leads to the innocent being prosecuted, because the system has been short circuited.

I am investigating the closing of the Wal*Mart to write an editorial. You won't believe what was happening...... yes you will!

This place is a cesspool of evil and corruption, and the honest citizens need to understand that this website, and those of us attempting to expose all of the evil can't do much about it until they step up and take some responsibility. Evil, and Corruption cannot be defeated by one or two or three. It takes all of the honesty you can muster to defeat it. I don't know what is going to happen in this last struggle, but if more will get into the battle, it will be defeated. It is on the run, but that doesn't mean it can't all of a sudden turn around and bite us on the butt. I have had my shots though, and should be immune..... HA!!

P.S. I have been told that the RR County Jail is in lockdown, and has been since the 16th when the fight occurred. It really is a sad day when even inmates inside the jail can't count on Sheriff Reed to provide personnel, and read grievances to place prisoners in protective custody to insure some protection. If the Sheriff can't provide security and safety inside his own jail, how does he expect to provide it to the citizens on the outside. As a well known attorney I know says, "Sue The Bastards!"

Another Ex-RRSO Employee Speaks!

I would like to say that I too worked for the county and I can also say that I know for a fact that there was several times that only 1 jailer was in the back and the dispatcher was the only one in the front that had to answer phone/911 / book in inmates & be a jailer for the ladies.. This is not the way a jail should be ran. I work for a county at this time & there is at least 4 jailers working at all times. Matter fact they have usually at least 1 female if not 2 and the others are males. This jail is ran like it should be and the dispatcher has only to do her/his job and not worry about who's calling on the buzzer wanting a aspirin or who's in the salliport wanting to come in with a prisoner. You may be thinking, well they probably house more than Red River County.. Wrong.. This jail houses the same amount that is in Red River County. Only difference is the Sheriff here knows how to run a jail.

Red River County is a joke when it comes to the jail. I can only say that because, I now know how a jail is correctly operated. Terry Reed does not even care about the jailers nor the inmates. I have seen grievances wrote several times and the so called Sheriff would ignore it.

Like the citizen said, Inmates usually know when they fear for there safety and do write grievances. Question is did this inmate write one & if so why was he not put in a single cell for his protection??

I could tell this site so many things that has happened at that department while I worked there, but I don't feel it will help anything change. I'm starting to think the citizens of Red River County likes the corruption it has. The first thing someone asked me at this new county was where you from. When I stated Red River County, all I heard was a laugh and oh yea the County where you can go and murder someone and no one cares.

You know that is sad to hear that other Counties look at Red River County that way. I can honestly say I am so glad I have moved out of Red River County..

I would like to state here in writing that any of the things written on this website are not directed at any of the employees, deputies, jailers, or reserve deputies, unless you are dirty maggots like your bosses, Sheriff Terry Reed, and Chief Deputy Larry Spangler. If you are one of the employees who is working his / her best for the people of this county, and are being held back from doing your job by these maggots, then you should not take offense at anything written on this site because it is not directed at you! To those of you with tattered ratty looking uniforms. I hope that the Sheriff gReeds this and buys you some new ones. It is a sad day when the sheriff spends money on toys rather than purchasing much needed equipment for the people who work out in the trenches. Sheriff gReed, you and Spankie are "Maggots", and if you don't provide your employees with equipment that they need and should be supplied by the taxpayers of Red River County, and are spending that money on toys; you should be squashed maggots!

I would like to also say that to those employees in the S.O. that have read the proof on this website about these two criminal maggots that you have as bosses, and you would still vote for them in an election, then you are probably maggots just like they are. If you are afraid of a new administration, you probably are dirty, and need to be afraid. If you aren't dirty, then why are you afraid? A new administration needs employees just like the old maggot regime does. If you aren't a maggot, you don't have to worry about the cesspool being drained. Think with your own brains instead of the two criminal brains running the show up there for a change.

This county needs to be cleaned up, from the top down in the Justice System. We need to put the appointed/elected maggot administration from the justice system in every office onto the street and elect HONEST people to the positions, if the voters can tell honesty anymore. We then need to investigate the past officials and put their sorry criminal asses in jail, which is probably the biggest part of them.

If there are any doubters left after looking at this website and the documentation on if for over 20 months, then all I can say is "What more do you need?" If you are still looking at this site wondering whether it is true or not, then you are for sure "Part of the Problem" rather than "Part of the Solution".

I am proud of those S O employees who have volunteered their time and money to be reserve deputies, if you are doing your job the right way. I am also proud of those employees who have joined the SWAT team and are probably spending their own money for needed equipment. They have made a BASIC start with the 40 hours of training that they completed, and I appreciate them. They still have a long way to go to be the equivalent of a Dallas SWAT team, but they are making the effort, and I am proud to say have taken the first step. From what I understand from talking with law enforcement outside this county you need about 340 more hours of training.

It would be nice if Sheriff gReed would have more than one deputy on duty at night in all of Red River County. We need law enforcement on the ground at night Sheriff. Why don't you try solving the 27 murders you have on the books, especially Commissioner Alton Peek's murder. How about it Sheriff, you know the suspects, but you just don't have the BALLS do ya?

Ya know, if someone was to pull the plug on the cesspool and drain it, 95% of the politicians in the city and county governments in Red River County would die of starvation.

Second....

I was informed this evening that the inmate taken to the hospital was given an attitude adjustment with a sock full of dominoes up side the head. Bet that hurt, and a few stitches were required. The helicopter was for another patient, which is why it was stated like was in the article. I would be surprised if you hear anything in the fufu and fluff about the incident.

Third....

To the fufu and fluff. You need to quit trying to make the maggot infested just-us system and government look like anything other than what it is. Quit trying to paste pretty butterfly wings on the maggots. I realize that the paper you use is almost outhouse quality, but you have the opportunity to print the whole true story rather than trying to fluff up the fibers for other uses, if you would just do it!!!!! You don't have the BALLS either do ya?

If there is a fight in the jail, the jailers should have been able to contain it on their own. When I worked there I was trained on " using the taser shield to stop a fight. It seems that he (the Sheriff) forgets he is mandated to have a certain amount of jailers per prisoner not only by The Texas Commission on Jail Standards but by the agreement he has with the Feds for housing their inmates. If he doesn't have jailers that can handle a situation in the jail...then perhaps he needs to find some that can. You don't see the correction officers at the Teleford Unit calling the Bowie County Sheriff's Office every time two guys start fighting. Why?, because they are properly trained.

And...

I would like to know, how many of their (RRCSO) jailers are actually certified jailers? Not just jailers who are working with a temporary license because they haven't been to school yet. I would be willing to bet that this information is public record also.

If the Sheriff would quit worrying about glorifying his department with play pretties like AR15's, and swat teams, and worry about running his dept according to standard these type of incidents would not occur. These fights happen more frequently than you think. Two guys start fighting in a dorm and what do they (Jailers) do? They call for police or deputies to come in to stop it.

Just a thought---

Did this inmate who was injured tell a jailer that there was a problem in the dorm, or put it in a grievance? Many times an inmate will alert you if he fears for his safety*

So, how long did it take for the police and deputies to respond?

People, you need to know this---this is public record. All you have to do is go to the Sheriff's Dept and put in an open records request for that information. It is in the "radio log"--and it should be in what is called "the activity sheet". Also, the on duty jailers should have written a incident report and the deputies should have done an offense report.

These things are lawsuits waiting to happen!!! Does the county need another lawsuit???

I know if this was my family member taken to the Emergency Room or Care flighted out--- I would be the first one in line the next day waiting to see an attorney to sue the hell out of them for not protecting my loved one. After all---it is the Sheriff --who is the custodian of every inmate in that jail, and he is responsible for everything ---and no matter what---he is responsible for anything that anyone in his employ does.

Do the Taxpayers know that it is they who are responsible for all the medical expenses incurred by an inmate??? And.... don't let them fool you by saying that they aren't----just check your case law for the answer. But, then again, we are the fools who end up with our taxes raised to pay for these things aren't we?

So Far, Valerie Kangaroo Varley leaps ahead with 56 total votes. Guess that proves he can leap over justice with a single bound. Being the County Attorney he is ABOVE the law, and thinks he is better than every citizen in Red River County!!!! If you don't believe it, Just Ask Him. If he says he is not above the law, ask him why he lets friends of his, get away with drunk driving, and other offenses. When he says prosecutorial discretion, that is his way of saying he is above the law, and can let off whomever he chooses, whether they have clearly broken the law or not.

About 22:30 tonight, 3 Clarksville Police Officers responded to the County Jail due to a fight in progress. Two deputies responded with a third on the way. It was heard on the radio that they needed to step it up, because they were needed.

I wonder how many jailers were on duty, if any? I hope that it was not just a dispatcher. The public does not hear about these sorts of things happening, and usually I don't post when I hear about one, but it is about time that people know that these things occur, and are occurring more frequently. If the Sheriff does not put more jailers on duty, someone (jailer, dispatcher, or inmate) is going to end up seriously injured or dead.

After all was said and done, 7 badges were called into the jail, 4 deputies and 3 City of Clarksville Officers. The disturbance was over, and the officers were coming out approximately 55 minutes later. Shortly after that, a prisoner was transported to the ETMC by a deputy. It was not long after the deputy and the inmate arrived at ETMC, fireman were called out to clear the pad for a helicopter to land. We do not know if the helicopter was called for the prisoner or someone else, but most likely with no other emergencies happening, the helicopter was called for the inmate. If it was called in for the inmate, the injuries were most likely extremely serious.

Sheriff Terry Reed and Chief Deputy Larry Spangler were never seen at the County Jail during the altercation. Isn't it convenient that the Sheriff and Chief Deputy are never around when they are really needed.

I wonder where their "SWAT" team was while all this was going on!! Besides that, do any of you believe that a real "SWAT" team could be trained in 40 hours or less. Come on guys....... that might be a start, but I think you are blowing smoke again if you expect smart people to believe that load of crap!

Tonight 5 Nov. 2007 at 9:00 p.m. Central on Court T.V. the new season of Murder By The Book premiered. This episode about the axe murder of Betty Gore (she was axed to death with 41 blows) occurred in Wylie Texas, during the tenure of Royce Abbott Chief of Police. Royce was interviewed a few month's back by Court TV for this episode, and appeared prominently as the lead investigator. I am sure that all of us who watched this episode saw the professionalism and cooperation of real law enforcement agencies as they pursued and built their case for prosecution. They definitely had the right person because she admitted to killing Betty Gore after they arrested her, and the evidence amassed against her was overwhelming. The people of Red River County should be proud to have a distinguished law enforcement officer living in their county!

I was speaking with my cousin couple days ago and she was telling me that she had a 1942 Farmall, shredder taken from her house and has tried for 5 months to get RR Cnty S.O. to find it. There has not been anyone out to talk to her nor will they talk to her by phone or person. She has a witness that told her he saw them carrying it thru the back side of her property on a lowboy trailer. The vehicle was a black S-10. Now, how hard would that be to find. Mind you this is the same lady that had her jewelry stolen just days after her husband was killed. Again the good ole boys didn't do anything about that theft either. Getting back to this tractor, it has been in our family for years. My great aunt bought this tractor new in 1942 and was still in operating condition, but after 5 months who could find it??

I feel if we are paying these people their pay checks so why can't they get up from the computer to search for these items?

Only one other question, what are we paying them for, and what is done to earn the pay?

Do you really believe that these crooks are going to get up off their lazy criminal asses and do something for any citizen in Red River County? You ask the question "What are we Paying them For?", and you already know the answer. If they were to do their job just one time, then citizens would get the idea that they really care, and then everyone would expect something from them. (They damn sure don't want that image.)

The so-called justice system is here for one thing Marty. It is here for them to make money, steal from the victims, and use the county credit cards to buy personal items for themselves, and to get rulings in court that benefit their friends, family etc. You should know by now from living here most all of your life that they don't care anything about enforcing the law, or for that matter abiding by it themselves. The Case of Monty Murphy

On April 12, 2001, Monty Murphy and Dwayne Blanton went to Rickey Joe Dotson's house in Bagwell, Texas. After drinking for a while, a fight began. Monty was arrested by Red River County Sheriff's Department for Public intoxication. Our mother, Paula Murphy went to get him out of jail. Upon arrival at the Red River County Sheriff's office she was told "something else was pending." Later that evening an Arson charge and Burglary of a Habitation charge was put on him. (The Original paperwork had been changed to show that he was arrested on those charges.) Two days later on April 15, 2001, a retaliation charge was added. I argued with the County Attorney's office because I did not understand how he could retaliate for the Dotson's filing the arson charge, because he was in jail before he ever knew about the Arson Charge. They alleged that Monty fought Rickey for filing the arson charge. The fight happened on April 12, 2001 and the charges were filed on April 13, 2001.

My parents Mike and Paula Murphy hired George Preston to represent Monty. Mr. Preston kept assuring Monty that it was "No Big Deal". Monty was not in town when the arson occurred, and two juveniles were in the area when the arson occurred. Dwayne Blanton was to give testimony that there was no forcible entry, (the day the fight occurred) and that in fact they were invited into the house and later went outside to talk. They were seen by witnesses leaning against the bed of a truck at the end of the driveway, talking. That is when the fight began.

Monty went to trial on the Burglary of a Habitation on March 19, 2002. Dwayne Blanton did not show up to testify. The County Attorney Val Varley lied during the trial on numerous occasions. Monty's attorney George Preston cross-examined the witnesses very little. Monty received twenty years in the Texas Department of Criminal Justice and a $10,000 fine (the maximum). Right after the trial I called Dwayne, and found that he was not even aware of the trial. The arson and retaliation charges were dropped! In my opinion, they put the charges on Monty and used them in trial, only to drop them afterwards because those charges were bogus. I consider this malicious prosecution.

In November 2001, Monty was arrested on Aggravated Sexual Assault. The charge was later reduced to Sexual Assault, but his bond of $75,000.00 was never reduced. This I believe, was an act of oppression. During the following months Monty was mistreated in jail, his original file was lost, and the original investigator, Jim Grisham was released from duty at the Red River County Sheriff's Office. The sheriff's department blamed Investigator Grisham for losing the file.

My family called Investigator Grisham and he said that he had not lost the file, and that the charges were at the time he left going to be dismissed, as the rape kit came back negative. I hired Larry Cunningham, a lawyer from Arlington, Texas to represent Monty in the hearing for a new trial on the Burglary of a Habitation, and he also agreed to represent Monty in the Sexual Assault case. During the hearing on the Burglary of a Habitation, Attorney Cunningham cited twelve reasons why Monty deserved a new trial, and they were quickly dismissed by the court.

I spoke to Judge Miller about the change of lawyers for the sexual assault trial. He said that would be no problem. The very next day, Monty's trial date was moved up two weeks!! That made it impossible for Mr. Cunningham (his new lawyer) to prepare for trial. That also stuck Monty with a court-appointed attorney, Dan Meehan. Monty knew then that he would not get a fair trial, so he accepted a plea-bargain on the Sexual Assault to go along with his 20 year sentence.

Monty received 7 years on the Sexual Assault charge, and is required to register as a Sexual Offender. His lawyer Dan Meehan advised him that he could get the Sexual Offender status removed by going to two psychiatrist for evaluations. We now know that this statement was untrue, because once you are convicted as a Sexual Offender it remains with you for life.

Monty had a co-defendant, Robin Dixon. We have letters from her where she tells of being threatened by Red River County officials and she was given a leniency deal to testify against my brother Monty.

I have reviewed the paperwork that Janice Patterson talks about (she has hundreds of pages of it) and in my opinion she is telling the truth. The things she has stated happened, and are present in the paperwork she possesses, and more often than not these tactics are used in the application of Red River County Just-Us. Val Varley aka. "VV Express" the County Attorney in Rail Road County is infamously known for piling charges on a defendant, and the changes in court dates to reek havoc to the defendant receiving adequate counsel, during which plea bargains are offered and prosecutorial pressure is applied (using the bogus charges and inadequate appointed counsel) to force a defendant to accept pleas not in the interest of justice, but to satisfy Val's own personal vendettas. Folks, this is not JUSTICE this is a TRAVESTY OF JUSTICE! This makes Val Varley a criminal, and there's no doubt about it.

Our Justice System is based on the fact that a person is "innocent" until "proven guilty" beyond a reasonable doubt. County Attorney's, or Prosecutor's depending on what you want to call them are supposed to work to give adequate justice to citizens and victims of their respective counties, and to attempt to prove a person "innocent" rather than prove them guilty during their investigations. If after thorough investigation, the preponderance of evidence shows guilt, and the Prosecutor fully believes that the defendant is guilty of the charges, then and only then should the Prosecutor move forward with indictment and prosecution. This is not how it happens in Rail Road County.

These two cases clearly present questions of doubt as to the defendant's guilt in either of the two charges, and the fact that the tests by the Texas Department of Public Safety's laboratory in the "Sexual Assault" charge came back negative, should have made County Attorney Val Varley stop before proceeding with a plea bargain on the Sexual Assault charge. Val Varley stated that "Not everyone is a secretor." to Janice Patterson, when he was confronted with the findings of the State Lab. My question to Rail Road County Attorney Val Varley aka. "VV Express" is "Did you ever investigate to see whether he was or wasn't a secretor?" The answer to that question fellow citizens is that he did not!! It would not have made a difference anyway because the State clearly had no case, because it had no evidence of a crime being committed! This statement by Val Varley proves that the "VV Express" is more interested in persecution and prosecution rather than the furtherance of Fair and Equal Justice for the Citizens of Red River County!!!

My question to you fellow citizens is "How many citizens of Red River County has the "VV Express" railroaded into prison with plea bargains, prosecutorial persecution, and inadequate representation of counsel with no clear evidence of a crime ever being committed?"

These manuals are interesting reading, as it gives an insight into how a Sheriff's Department is supposed to be operated and maintained, and the policies and procedures to accomplish the tasks!

The Policy manual list procedures for search warrants and seizure of property during a search, also search of persons. The policy manual is a detailed operations manual for the Red River County Sheriff's department, and is an effective manual describing in detail, all procedures of the Department, and the situations that arise in the execution of departmental employees duties. It lists the rights of the citizens, and the necessary procedures to be followed by law enforcement to protect the rights of the citizens.

These manuals are very difficult to obtain (nearly impossible). These two manuals are old, but from what I hear they don't update them that much from one administration to the next because they don't follow them anyway. If you have ever been curious about what the Sheriff's Department and Jail were supposed to be doing according to their own publications, now you have the opportunity to check it out! I have been informed that some of the employees have never seen these, so it might be something that they can review for procedural purposes, since they have a hard time getting copies for themselves. You may print these if you desire!

If you have worked there, or been confined there, are working there now or confined there now, there is such a thing as manual warfare. Now you can use their own policy manuals against them, and even if the manuals are old, should still be viable for the purpose. If the Department would care to furnish the site with current manuals (if they have changed), please don't hesitate to send them to me, and I won't hesitate to post them.

An Insiders Opinion on the 2008 Red River County Budget Process!

As you have heard budget time is here and all the elected officials are trying to up their budgets. I have a few comments about the budget. I agree with you as far as the cartoon stated about all this crazy spending.. It is outrageous. All the officials are getting together to see how much more they can spend without the taxpayers raising some cane. Since no one ever attends these budget workshops they can do what they want to, including raising your taxes, which is coming. The county is not in a dire situation that they have to raise taxes, they raise taxes because they can, and this is more money for them to hoard (in the form of cd's), or spend all they want to. If the commissioners would make all the elected officials "cut" some of their budget, there would be no need to ever raise our taxes.

One of the biggest and best thing that the county could do is to install time clocks. Every time sheet is filled out by each employee and then the department head signs off on it. Corruption big time!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I think this would save the county money, big time!!!!!!!!!!!!

As for the cell phones, do away with them. Especially at the sheriffs office. That's what their radio's are for. How much could be saved by doing this? What about all the personal long distance phone calls that are made from the offices? Does anyone ever check that?

It has been confirmed by Royce Abbott that he was contacted today by the Texas Attorney Generals Office, on the illegal criminal history background check that was run on him during the Sheriff's Race in March 2006. The preliminary investigation provided enough information to trigger a full investigation of the incident. A Sergeant from the Criminal investigations division of the Texas Attorney General's Office has been assigned. The Citizen Opinion Received Today 7/29/2007 (Read the Citizen Opinion by Clicking Here) revealed that Commissioner Bobble Head Josef Hausler is on the Grand Jury this time. Could it be that he was placed on the Grand Jury on Purpose by the Powers that be to make sure that the Grand Jury does not look into the Credit Card abuse, and the Criminal Activity by Kris Spangler, Chief Deputy Larry Spangler and Sheriff Terry Reed? I was on the Crime Stoppers Board with Bobble Head, and he tried to run it even though he was only a member. He always sat in his Commissioner's Seat in the Court Room during the Meetings. That made him feel official. The Grand Jury needs to realize that Bobble Head (Josef) Hausler is power hungry, and will try to run the proceedings of the Grand Jury. We believe he was placed there on purpose at this very specific time and moment to make sure all of you don't stray into forbidden territory.

Until the Sheriff and the County Government actually combat crime rather than participating in it, only his Deputies need a raise. The upper echelons above the deputies (who actually do work) definitely don't need thousands of dollars in raises. The Sheriff and Justice System here won't let the deputies do their jobs. Some of them would love to change the atmosphere in this government, but they don't have the power to do it. We have some honest people in the Sheriff's Department who want to fight the crime in Red River County, but are not allowed to by the Sheriff, Valerie K. Varley the County Attorney, and our Courts. These corrupt officials turn their buddies loose, and persecute those that have no money for defense. They pile on false charges, and scare these individuals into taking pleas for things they did not do, then pile on large probation fees to make Money! That's all these elected officials and appointees care about is Money, Money, and more Money. They will lie, cheat, conspire, and steal for it. They will do anything and everything to get it including bleeding the taxpayers (you and I) dry also. We need to Flush the bowl, and get some fresh water in the Red River County Toilet (Government)!

Now they have received "Grant Money" from the State of Texas for the Poor and Indigent to receive representation in the courts. This money will probably be stolen like everything else, and the poor and indigent will not be afforded any better representation than they have been receiving. From what I hear they have already made up their minds about who is going to get the job here, and I wouldn't pay this attorney to represent my dog. I hear that you can probably get a snoot full though. This is just another ploy to Rape the Tax Payers of Red River County and line their pockets with Money! This time it is our tax dollars from the State!

Let's flush the Red River County Toilet (Government) and get the Criminals out of power and into prison where they belong!

They also send all their dope head employees over to the Sheriff's Department, and give them upper echelon positions.

I guess that makes them smart in some ways, no other law enforcement agency would take them, and no one from outside

of the Red River county toilet would put up with the criminal activities!

Word has it that Val aka. "Valerie K." aka. "VV Express" Varley is telling everyone that the Jewelry that Sheriff Terry took for himself and gave away to his deputies came from burglaries in Oklahoma. If that is the case (which we all know that it isn't because it is another cover up conspiracy perpetrated by these 2 good ole boys) show us some proof. Lets think for just a split-second that it is true. Why was the jewelry not returned to the Oklahoma Authorities for evidence against the perpetrators of those crimes for their trials in Oklahoma. If they tried anyone up there that was caught for the crimes, they are not like our Justice System in RR County. They would have to have the jewelry for evidence at their trials. They wouldn't leave the evidence here in RR County for Sheriff Terry to "heist", it would have been returned to Oklahoma, and they would have contacted the victims of the crimes and returned everything they could back to them.

This story does not hold water "VV". You are as full of it as a Thanksgiving Turkey, only yours ain't stuffing!

Everyone knows the jewelry came from the 22 burglaries that were committed around the north of Avery! We are all not as gullible as you wish us to be! The senior ring probably belonged to someone who worked for "Sheriff Terry" because it fit the description that the victim told us about. It seems he may have screwed one of his own employees, because that Senior Ring most likely belonged to them.

Just goes to show what a couple of criminal minds will try and think up to cover up their criminal actions!

It never ceases to amaze me what the "Criminals" that we have running the Sheriff's Department and our government in Red River County will do. Spankie convinced ( because they wanted to be ) Josef (Bobble Head) Hausler and David Barnett to go around the last time and tell everyone that the Credit Card Fraud that was perpetrated by his son Kris was all a mistake. If that was a mistake I will buy the Golden Gate Bridge. We all know that the mistake was that he was caught. I can tell you that the only mistakes that we have in this county is the "Criminals" that are running our government that won't prosecute their "Criminal" buddies. If you are even close to being fooled you need to wake up and smell the roses.

Let's see them explain this one away. It is blatant abuse because as you will see from the documentation that the only thing purchased was a pack of Cigarettes. No telling how long this abuse has been going on! The newly appointed and sitting Grand Jury needs to use their powers. If they will read the Grand Jurors Handbook by clicking here, they will see that they have the power to investigate anything they want too. They also have the power to get their own investigator and dig. Val Varley will throw a fit if you try this, because he doesn't want too, and will not prosecute anyone that is in his good ole boy network. The Grand Jury has tremendous power to investigate, and the right to indict when they find a crime has been committed, and if Val Varley doesn't want to prosecute the criminal, then maybe the Grand Jury needs to start digging in his office. He is a Criminal also, and needs to be in prison with Spankie, Reed, and Kris. Members of the Grand Jury, you need to look into this credit card abuse, because it has probably costs us (the taxpayers of this county) thousands upon thousands of dollars.

I know that it is only a pack of cigs, but if he would steal from us to pay for his cigarettes he would steal from us to do anything. Neighbors of Sheriff Terry Reed----Do you ever feel like you are being watched?

That is because you are being watched.

One night Sheriff Terry Reed was laying in bed and could not sleep because of the loud basing of a car going by his house. He got pissed off and got up and went to his county truck and took out some special equipment. That was the night that he began his surveillance. This surveillance goes on during the day and night. I've witnessed Terry putting a floppy disc in his computer in the attempt at blowing up the pictures he's taken. I've actually seen him straining his eyes trying to see license plate numbers and faces of who those baser's were.

So if any of you have neighbors who drive down the road and are thumping too loud call the Sheriff, he might let you borrow some of the county's equipment to catch these people committing a class c misdemeanor. Who knows, he might actually assist you since he has it down to a science.

Also, If you rack your pipes, or continue to keep him awake with a lot of noise, he will come out and fire his weapon into the air several times, even though he lives inside the city limits.

On a more serious note... Sheriff it is illegal to fire a weapon inside of the city limits. If you were anywhere else (somewhere civilized) you would be in deep trouble even if you are the sheriff. There are reasons for not firing a weapon inside the city limits. A stray bullet could injure or kill an innocent civilian. What if you fired your weapon and you injured or killed one of your kids. THAT WOULD MORE THAN SUCK WOULDN'T IT (as your daughter likes to say)! What if one of your stray rounds went through someone's wall and killed them. Sheriff, it may not seem like much now, but your actions are criminal (nothing new), and it might not be that big of an offense to you now, but it could result in involuntary manslaughter from one of your stray rounds, and that would be devastating to someone's family. YOU IDIOT!

I have a question for all my loyal readers. Is the Law in the State of Texas a Joke? In my opinion, it is because the way our law enforcement is set up, if law enforcement is the criminal, nothing will be done by the State. The excuse is that if you have a complaint, (and believe me, I have talked to more than one state agency) that you have to take it to your County, or District Attorney. Hell folks, our County Attorney is as big a criminal as the Law enforcement here. He doesn't want to prosecute anyone that is a member of the clique who breaks the law. They are his friends. He just let off one of his buddies not that long ago for Driving Under the Influence. His buddy Sheriff Terry Reed is not going to be prosecuted by him! His buddy Chief Deputy Larry Spangler is not going to be prosecuted by him. So folks, where do we turn. It is a catch 22 in the State of Texas if it is your judicial branch that is corrupt, because the State will tell you that you have to have proof they are corrupt before they will investigate.

We are citizens, not law enforcement, and we are supposed to prove to the State of Texas that our Law Enforcement and Judicial System is loaded with Criminals! We have proof positive of several different criminal activities on this website and the criminal conspiracy of our just-us branch to cover it up. Do you think that the State is going to do anything! That still remains to be seen, but if past experience is anything the State of Texas Government and Law Enforcement is LAME.

My question to our good Republican Governor Rick Perry and our Legislator in this area Mark Homer is why with all the proof is the State not doing something. The question now is "Maybe they are?" The answer is "I doubt it!" I will believe it when they arrest these criminals that are running the Justice system here. County Attorney Val Varley could not possibly have an excuse for not prosecuting Kris Spangler, Larry Spangler, and Terry Reed. They have committed criminal felony acts, and it seems that no one is going to do anything about it.

How about it State of Texas? Is there anyone out there in the State Government that Gives a Damn, or are you just Window Dressing. I say that they only care about their own pocket lining, and could care less about the persecution of the indigent, the drug running, and the Criminal we have for a County attorney "Val Varley" that won't do anything to his good ole' boy buddies who have broken the law. We won't mention all the murders in lil ole Red River County! We especially won't mention Commissioner Alton Peek who was more than likely murdered by some of our past law enforcement, elected officials, and citizens. How about it... I have come right out and said it. You want me to name some names, and why? More than just me know about them and the reason; I made sure of that, so watch out if I get a hangnail you sorry murdering SOB's. Now is not the time!

Remember, I personally know an assistant U.S. Attorney, and others....

The State of Texas has been given proof positive about the criminal activities here in writing, and we have seen nor heard absolutely nothing out of the State of Texas, as of yet.

Not one of our State Elected officials gives a damn! If you do let's see the color of your true selves, Rep. Mark Homer, and Republican Governor Rick Perry. How about helping do something about these criminal's we have running our Criminal Justice system in Red River County! All you guys have to do is start at the top, and work your way down. They are all Criminals! Shit, the way Rep. Mark Homer rubs elbows with them he is probably one of them. How 'bout it Homer, you got any Cohones?

Question's for Sheriff Reed...

I hear that you can't afford to purchase new uniforms for your deputies, but you seem to have money to buy "Frisbees" with the Sheriff's Department Logo on them. If you are so concerned about your officer's well being, and how poor they are, why did you do this? If you did do this don't you feel bad about it? I also noticed when I visited the department yesterday that you can afford gadgets like Refrigerator Magnets... a couple of types. I have one that is your business card in gold. These are expensive Sheriff. I would much rather see uniforms purchased for those poor deputies than you purchasing toys to play with. Shows you can't use our taxpayer dollars wisely Sheriff Reed, and you want a $13,600.00 raise for yourself next year!

I have also heard rumblings that when a member of the "upstanding citizens club" aka "the clique" get's arrested for dope, that it is swept under the rug! Is that true Sheriff Reed? I tend to believe it is by your and "Val Varley's" criminal actions of the past, but I really want you to answer these questions truthfully.... are these things true or false?

I am also told again and again that you don't come to work..... Is this true, and if it is why do you need a $13,600 raise next year? You need a cut in pay, (no, I take that back... you and Spankie should be in prison) and your deputies need a raise of more than $450.00 per year. Don't you agree Sheriff. If one of your deputies didn't come to work you would fire him/her so why is it that you never come to work but need a $13,600 raise in pay next year?

I also hear that you and Spankie have taken Freddie Gerwick into your little clan.... I guess birds of a feather flock together as the old saying goes. I also know that you are paying him investigators pay, even though he is dispatching. That's not right Sheriff, to the taxpayers or your deputies. I don't trust you any more than some of your deputies do Sheriff. If your own deputies don't trust you, why should the taxpayers?

I think that the taxpayers of Red River County would be interested in knowing what happened to some of the stolen property from a string of approximately 22 burglaries recovered by the by Red River County Sheriffs Department.

This property disposal that I witnessed was jewelry. This recovered stolen jewelry was contained in a large red Folgers Coffee can that was filled to the top with rings, necklaces, bracelets, earrings, watches, charms, broaches, and pins. There was also a lot of children's jewelry. I specifically remember seeing a small child's gold bracelet, and a set of gold "Loony Tune" children's rings. (Tweety, Wiley Coyote, Bugs Bunny etc..)

Sheriff Terry Reed was giving this jewelry to his employees after he had gone through the can and picked out what he wanted to keep.

Obviously Sheriff Reed forgot how many employees were in his office and how many passed through his office that witnessed this.

The rest of the jewelry was sold at the Red River County Auction in May 2007. Sheriff Reed and Chief Deputy Larry Spangler boasted the leftover jewelry sold for $250.00.

There is an another interesting twist to this story.

This jewelry came from burglaries, but Larry Spangler intentionally lied to the county auditor on the phone telling her that it came from a drug bust and the proceeds were to go into the Drug Fund and not the General Fund. I was sitting in Larry's office when the Sheriff walked in. Larry was laughing as he told the sheriff that he had just gotten off the phone with Shirley Anderson/County Auditor. They were going over how the money was to be distributed into the accounts being the General Fund (which is for the entire Red River County Government Use) or the Drug Fund (which is a cookie jar for the Sheriff to purchase whatever toys he wants for his department). I heard Larry Spangler tell the Sheriff that Shirley "Got Him" on the first few items but then he remembered to tell her on the remainder of the items, which included the jewelry to place the proceeds into the Drug Fund. The Sheriff started laughing and shook his head up and down indicating yes.

The legal way to dispose of this stolen recovered jewelry was for Sheriff Reed to pull the 22 burglary reports, and contact everyone who reported jewelry stolen, and ask them to come down to the Sheriff's Department to identify their stolen treasures. Instead he took some for himself, gave some to his employees, then sold the rest at auction.

I am sure a considerable portion of this stolen jewelry held great sentimental value to the Red River County Citizens it was stolen from, especially the children's jewelry.

There is evidence.

I am sure that all of the citizens who had jewelry stolen in this crime spree (that I hinted at the end of the Editorial Response to Fran Reed's Citizen Opinion Letter to this site) will not be happy to learn that they have been victimized not once but twice. They have been victimized twice because their property was stolen by criminals, then recovered by supposed to be Law Enforcement, and then stolen by the criminal law enforcement of Red River County that should have been compassionate and legal enough to return it to them. (That's a real criminal tongue-twister folks!!!)

Our Sheriff, Terry Reed is a Criminal!! What Sheriff Reed did makes him a Criminal. He is a criminal because he Stole the Jewelry that belonged to Red River County Citizens who were Victims of 22 burglaries.

Sheriff Reed "STOLE" Jewelry from Victims, just exactly like the criminals did when they broke into these honest citizen's homes and stole it in the first place. This proves that "Sheriff Terry Reed is a Criminal". He is more of a criminal than the burglars who stole the jewelry in the beginning because he is "Wearing a Badge". The law is very plain. If a law enforcement officer violates the law, he is worse than a regular criminal because it imposes more sever punishment for law enforcement officers than those criminals who are civilian. The value of the jewelry will probably reveal that he has committed a "FELONY." Remember, real Jewelry does not de-value!

If you were a victim that lost jewelry in these burglaries, and "Sheriff Terry" had not "heisted" it, you would have it back in your possession right now! How does that make you feel?

It's really kind of sad. Our Just-Us system punished Chief Jimmie Townsend with Prison, and ruined his life over a computer that was worth maybe $100.00 (Remember, I valued the computer for the "VV Express" but he wouldn't let me testify)! I don't believe Chief Townsend stole the computer in the first place, (remember, I had just started working on the cities computers at that time, and they sucked as Fran's grand daughter likes to say it) but our Just-Us put him in prison falsely to shut him up about the Drug Lab that Judge Powell Peeks son Steven Peek was running. If you remember, the Sheriff's Department went out and took the drug lab apart and hid it. The Commissioners Court threw the drug task force out of the County to get them off the trail of the lab, and then the Just-Us system "VV Express", Sheriff's Department, Commissioners Court, and Probation Department conspired time and time again to cover up Steve Peek's drug actions.

Chief Jimmie Townsend paid the ultimate price losing his career in Law Enforcement, because of our Sheriff's Department, Commissioners Court, Just-Us System, and Probation Department's Criminal Actions that he was trying to expose in his original investigation of Steve Peeks Drug Lab!

Now we have a "High Sheriff", Sheriff Terry Reed that is a criminal! Who is going to arrest, convict, and send him to Prison? It won't be our Corrupt County Attorney Val Varley. It won't be our Corrupt Commissioners Court. It certainly won't be our even more corrupt Just-Us System that convicts and persecutes the poor and indigent citizens, and it most definitely won't be our Criminal "Sheriff" or Criminal "Chief Deputy".

Who can you the Victims of these 22 burglaries turn too now? Where is the justice for a murdered commissioner? Where is the humanity for the poor and indigent?

Now you know what kind of Officials, Government and Justice System we have in Red River County!

Isn't it time something was done about the criminals in our county government?

I have been told, that as Sheriff Terry was going through the 3lb. Folgers Coffee Can full of Jewelry that he was holding the stones up to the light and looking at them closely, moving his glasses up and down his nose... etc. really examining the stones carefully. Since his family was in the Pawn Shop Business I am sure he is somewhat familiar with jewelry and it's worth, so I assume that he "HEISTED" the best for himself. Hey Uncle Larry, did he even give you a chance to get some of the really good stuff, or did he keep it all for himself?

7/24/2007 I have been informed that one of the items in the can was a class ring, On the top it had the year of graduation, and school. Inside the ring, in the band there was a name engraved, although the name cannot be remembered. Sheriff Terry Reed you had all the information right in your hand to return this item to the rightful owner, but you chose not to do the right thing. It is easy to say I wish I had, but it is impossible to turn back time and change your illegal, criminal actions.

My name is Fran Reed and I am Terry Reed's mother. I am also married to Jimmy Reed. I am the one in this household that plays on the comuter as my husband has to work on one part of the year and doesn't care about E-MAIL and etc. However, I wanted to make sure you had our correct address. Trust me, my granddaughter did send you the e-mail and she has a much better opinion of you and do I. You have hurt so many children by your disclosures of adult problems that really had nothing to do with their performance of their duties. However, I do believe in free speech, so, go for it. Be sure you can back it all up.

A very wise man once said "Only a fool will argue with a fool" I have held my tongue until now and felt someone should say that we, as a county, have not elected a crook for every single office and I am proud to be part of Clarksville and Red River County. Our county can not pay enough money for our officers to stay here and risk thier life protecting those who do not appreciate them. I appreciate anyone willing to take a city or county job due to the personal abuse, not just professional, that is inflicted. These people have families and they are hurt as well. Why not offer yourself as a volunteer for some county or city office and lend your expertise to improve what you think is so corrupt?

First, I would like to apologize for not getting you e-mail posted, but I have other things that required my attention, and I just got around to doing it today.

I now know why your headers attached to the first e-mail and this one show jimmyreed@cebridge.net. It was set up that way to keep people from knowing the account that you receive mail on, unless you want them to be able to send you mail. You actually send your mail through the jimmyreed@cebridge.net, and receive your mail through jvreed@cebridge.net. Pretty smart way of blocking the spammers. I am sure that Sheriff Terry knows how the account is set up on your computer. This e-mail you sent me shows the same as the first one except the dates correspond with when you sent it. Ingenious Spam blocking technique. Since you said you don't understand where I got the first e-mail address I am very positive that I won't be needing any assistance from you, although thanks for offering.

Fran, I did volunteer when I moved here, to Val Varley, to consult on the computer network wiring at the court house. I offered my services free of charge, but they turned me down. I could not understand why till now anyone would turn down free service when the county is supposed to be so poor. I also offered to audit all their computer systems free of charge to show them where they could save money and time on networking and maintenance, and they turned me down again. Again, I could not understand why till now. I have 37 years of experience in electronics from a Major Telephone and Electronics Corporation and the United States Air Force in telephone, wiring, computers and networking, but it seems the county would rather pay about $14.00 per person (that's for every man, woman, and child in this county Fran) per year from our tax dollars to pay a company that from what I can hear from workers within the county government won't fix, or maintain anything unless you hog tie them. I know from what little I worked on some of the computers in the county government that they suck (as your granddaughter likes to say it, if she said it). I have customers willing to wait in line, and pay $40.00 per hour to get me to work on their networks and computers, and yes Fran they repeat their business with me all the time. They tell me I am good at what I do, but I myself don't tell anyone I am good, cause when you do that something bad happens. I just tell them I will do what I can.

Fran, your gray matter is mixed up when you say that I have hurt children. I have hurt no one. The children were hurt by the actions of their parent/s. All I do is write about those actions. If Uncle Larry and Sheriff Terry, and anyone else in the county government that has (so called) hurt children would stop and think before they do some criminal action, like harboring a fugitive or committing credit card fraud, and understand that they are committing a criminal action, and not do it, the children would not be hurt because it would not be there to be revealed. Besides that Uncle Larry's son committed the credit card fraud when he bought the tires, so how is it that he is hurt other than being caught? Sheriff Terry harbored the fugitive, and processed her through the system under an assumed name to keep her out of jail, so how is it that his kids are hurt from anything other than his actions?

I did not commit the criminal actions, all I did was reveal them. Tell me again how I have hurt children?

You are also more than a little backward in your thinking if you think that those criminal actions did not affect the performance of their duties! Uncle Larry, and Sheriff Terry took an oath to uphold the law, not break the law. Uncle Larry benefited from spending taxpayer dollars for personal gain. Besides from what I hear Sheriff Terry needs to get up and go into work before the afternoon instead of letting Uncle Larry run the Sheriff's Department. If I am not mistaken, Terry was first "appointed" as Sheriff, to run the department and not lay in bed at home, coming into work "once in a while". If he did not want to do the job, why did he take it in the first place....... other than to draw a paycheck from the taxpayers. Not being at work definitely affects performance of duties!

You are also mistaken in the statement that I said the taxpayers have elected a crook for every single office. The crooks that I have talked about on this site were first "appointed" to office. The proof is in the documentation, and their actions prove they are criminals. If they would stop committing fraud, waste and abuse of the taxpayers dollars, maybe there would be enough money to pay peace officers a descent wage. I remember back when "The Star" was printing that there was over $5,000,000.00 in investments in the Red River Bank that belonged to Red River County, (how much more is in there now) and that was above the over $2,000,000.00 that was in the General Funds that Judge Peek got himself called a Bald Faced Liar over. I saw the documentation, because a commissioner left it lying around where I could look at it. It's also funny that this county is always complaining about being the poorest county in the State, yet Sheriff Terry purchased a $500.00 Computer Cell phone at taxpayer expense rather than taking a free one that was offered. Tell me again just how poor this County is, and why they can't afford to pay peace officers a descent wage! Between the cell phone and the tires that could have been nearly a $1,000.00 raise for one of those poor law enforcement officers. There were also lawsuits that were settled recently that were caused by the actions of the Sheriff's Department, which raised the County's insurance premiums more than a considerable amount. (By the way Fran, these lawsuits were kept from the public by the justice system and the Commissioners Court!) Fran please explain to me why Red River County is so poor, they can't afford to pay law enforcement officers a descent wage.

Now another instance of "CREDIT CARD FRAUD" has been uncovered that Uncle Larry committed. This is two times now! If a man will steal a $1.00, he won't hesitate to steal $1,000.00. Criminals are criminals, and a criminal wearing a badge is worse than a civilian criminal. That's why state law imposes stiffer punishments on criminals who commit crimes while wearing a badge. Only in Red River County do we have criminals locking up so called criminals, but it seems that the ones wearing badges belonging to RR County are never brought to justice. Why is that Fran?

One last question Fran. How is it an Uncle Larry is risking his life protecting the public when pointing his weapon at the head of a handcuffed unarmed prisoner threatening to blow his brains out? Yes, that incident is completely known also Fran!

I don't argue with fools either Fran, I just show them the facts, and ask them to dispute them!

A complete Audit of all the County's Credit cards is needed for the past 5 years. Not just some of them but every account, including Commissioners, and anyone else that is in possession of a County Credit card. If this CREDIT CARD FRAUD in the Sheriff's Department is the tip of the iceberg, which I believe it is, then we might just find enough money to give those poor law enforcement officers a descent wage. We also need for the "VV Express" to prosecute the offenders rather than turning a blind eye!

How about it Fran? Don't you agree? If you are willing to provide assistance Fran, will you help as a taxpayer by writing a letter to the County Judge and the Commissioners court to help get an audit brought about on all of the Credit Cards, including the S.O.?

More revealing facts are coming in the future about the S.O., including the second credit card abuse. One of these facts will really piss off the victims of a crime spree that occurred in Red River County at your Son, Sheriff Terry. So, get prepared Fran!

This e-mail was sent to you by my 13 year old daughter, who overheard a conversation regarding your site during a family function at my father and mother’s home. My daughter accessed your site and was upset by cartoons, etc of the site. She also saw the link to send anonymous e-mail and she gave you her opinion of you and your site.

I only learned of this tonight after checking the site and seeing the e-mail and your response, therefore I wanted you to know the facts. You responded to a 13 year old child, who didn’t understand the consequences of what she was doing – she simply was trying to standup for her dad.

I sincerely hope that you have the decency to remove the e-mail and your response from your site. I assure you that she will not respond to you again.

Yes, your e-mail would make a difference to me "if" a child wrote it however, you should not attempt to lay this off onto your 13 year old child to cover something that an adult did.

It is very obvious by the wording and what was said in the e-mail that this did not come from a 13 year child, who most assuredly would not know, care, or write about the political atmosphere in Red River County.

i hate a coward!

If there is one thing I despise worse than the Criminals we have in our Government and Justice system in Red River County it is a coward. I received an e-mail today, and I want all of you to read it. As you know this site accepts e-mails "posted" and "non-posted", but when a coward sends one that you can not respond to because he has either blocked his e-mail from response or has fraudulently sent the e-mail in the first place, I am going to post the e-mail, and respond to it in public. Well, well, seems as the good ole boys have rose again! What's going to happen to Red River County before the citizens wake up and do something?

Well, I'm for one would like to see the sheriff and his chief deputy turn in their resignations to the commissioners court. Then there should be an election held to replace the offices, but why just these two, needs to be the whole courthouse. Everyone connected with the county in anyway should be replaced and new blood placed into office by VOTERS not appointments. No one should be able to hold office, but two (2) years at a time. Like some have been there since I was a young child. I have said this for years, since Slim Hulen was sheriff that the whole county should be cleaned out and replaced and I believe it more today. It's awful and the sad part is you can't get a honest answer from anyone of the officials. They are all officials if paid by the citizens of the county. Taxpayers!!

Someone should ask the V V Express why the King brothers weren't ever prosecuted? Wouldn't be because their father told Val he'd spend every dime he had to clear them! Well, this stopped him from doing his elected job just because of whom they were. If this had been my nephews or my children they would have been thrown under the jail and rotted like some other poor ones have done. I'm sorry, but my Book tells me everyone is equal regardless.

It also tells me we are all God's children, but wrong is wrong, and God will take care of the wrong doings that is and has taken place in this county.

I do believe that Alton Peek's murderer will be found because some day they will wake up to nothing and only way out will be to confess their wrongs and then they will be caught. Those two babies have grown up without their father and someday they will find out who did the dirty work. Sooner or later ! How anyone could have killed Alton or even Mr. Humphries is beyond me. Don't have much respect do they?

What's sad is the very ones in office are probably the ones that either know or did the awful dirty work. But what can we expect from the ones that are in the offices?

What about the missing Bench girl? Has she been found?? What about the black lady killed at Caney Wells and I do believe a prominant white lady was involved in that case wasn't she?? Oh, could be another case of who you are to whether anything is done or not.

And Freddie Booker was a disgrace to his grand-father except his grand-father never got caught. Did he??

Ernie, things aren't ever going to change here. You will always have the good ole boys like the Varleys, Conways, Reeds, Spankie's. People don't want to hurt them, but they don't mind putting the hurt to you. It's always and will always be who you are and not what you are in Red River County. That's why we are between home(RRCty) and Austin, just get tired of all the bull here. Everything you own being stolen and NO ONE doing anything about it.

I read the note about the 77 year old man, they should count their lucky stars wasn't my father. I sure to hell wouldn't fool with the Texas Rangers cause I own an equalizer and not afraid to use it.

Those girls should sue RR Cty, but then what could they get except monies from the poor that didn't put the low lives in office. I never had a job that I didn't have to work at, so I don't know how it feels to draw a pay check and not have to work for it. Must be good they are all fat as pigs.

Also read the letter about Kristi being honest, if that's true why has she went from sheriff secretary to dispatch, back to secretary (after the cruise) and now treasurer office, don't trust her neither.

Why is there such a turn over in the county offices??

Ernie I would like to say I'm very thankful you have the knowledge to maintain this site, I think it's good that the citizens know what goes on and are never told. That's why we LOVED the Star so much, when you read the Star you knew you were going to get the truth of things, not like the Times, all in the past before you can read it.

Dear Ernest,
Remember when our Sheriff had all this publicity about a turn of the century website that was going to modernize the Sheriff's Dept and how it would be Citizen Friendly.
Well doesn' t look like anyones been there in months.
I guess no crimes have occurred because the last crime stoppers burglary is dated back in December of 2006.
So, for all of the people who have been burglarized or had something stolen , looks like it will be awhile before anyone gets around to putting the information on the Net.
I was also looking at the directory, looks like the Sheriff needs to delete a few people. If he's gonna run them off or fire them, he should at least have the decency not to try and fool the public in to thinking that they are still with the department. I'm sure those people who haven't been deleted are ashamed to have their names seen there.
To see everything that's going on there is a real slap in the face to every taxpayer and citizen of Red River County and if you, Ernest Henslee had a pig, I would vote for it before I voted for Sheriff Terry Reed or anyone else associated with him and I believe I am not alone on this.

The question I want to ask of Sheriff Reed, and Doug Smith the City Manager, Clarksville: Did Freddy Gerwick flunk 2 drug tests, and if he did why did the Sheriff's office hire him; and he now has been promoted to investigator after the firing of Freddy Booker?

If that is true, it means he has the keys to the evidence locker, and all the drugs that are in it. I've heard a bunch of times that drugs were missing out of the City of Clarksville evidence locker. Hum... Wasn't Freddy Gerwick in charge of that locker also?

The investigation is completed, and the proof is in black and white. Kris Spangler purchased a set of tires and chrome exhaust extensions and the labor to install them in the amount of $431.13 using the Red River County Sheriff's Office Credit Card on February 16, 2007. A Source has told us that when the bill came in, our County Auditor Shirley Anderson caught the abuse on the bill went to the County Attorney Val Varley and brought it to his attention. She told him that she was tired of this sort of thing going on, and that a stop needed to be put to it. (Does that tell you anything folks?) Val Varley then called the Sheriff's Office, and told Spangler that he better get this taken care of now.

The only problem is that Kris Spangler does not have authorization to use the Red River County Sheriff's Office Visa Card, as can be seen by clicking here, and taking a look at the authorized employees list. This is very blatant theft by credit card, and there is no way around it. The purchase of $431.13 by Kris Spangler is a criminal offense, and should be punished by the justice system, but it was not, because it seems as if a cover-up of the abuse was committed all the way from Val Varley's Office to the Sheriff's Department, right on down through our Commissioners Court including all of the Commissioners and the County Judge. If you take a look at the Visa Bill which shows a closing date of March 14, 2007 with a Payment Due date of April 08, 2007. You will see the charge for the tires on February 19, 2007. You can also see the receipt from Hicks Muffler and Tire, and the Credit Card Receipt clearly signed by Kris Spangler on February 16, 2007. There is also a check signed by Brenda Spangler on an account styled Brenda or Kris Spangler dated Feb 20, 2007, but if you notice the Receipt posting the money into the Red River County Account is dated April 2, 2007. That is 41 days after the illegal unauthorized charge by Kris Spangler on the RRC S.O. Visa Card.

If you know the operations of the county you know that checks are deposited either the day received, or the day after received. The county does not hold checks for 41 days after they are received before depositing them into the County Account. That receipt proves that Brenda Spangler Back Dated a check to cover-up the illegal fraud committed by Kris Spangler, so that Larry Spangler could say the Red River County Credit Card was used by mistake. The Red River County Credit Card was not used by mistake, and that deposit receipt proves it.

We have been told today June 29th.by the Treasurer's office that the receipt was dated the day they got the check, April 2, 2006, and that it was deposited the next day because the check was taken to County Attorney Val Varley by Shirley Anderson, maybe because it was back dated.

I don't know about most cognizant people, but that tells me that if County Auditor Shirley Anderson had not brought the fraudulent charge to the attention of County Attorney Val Varley, that Larry Spangler had absolutely no intention of paying the county back for the tires. In other words, he was allowing Kris Spangler to steal $431.13 from you and I the taxpayers of Red River County using a RRC So Credit Card issued to him. You will also notice a purchase order issued by the Sheriff's Department with Larry Spangler's initials on it. That Purchase order is dated 3/26/2007, entered on April 8, 2007, and Paid April 9, 2007 and not only is it signed by the County Judge Morris Harvill as approved, but also each of our fine commissioners, Rufus Ward, David Barnett, Elmer Caton, and Josef Hausler. The very top item is the tires that were purchased fraudulently on the S.O. credit card by Kris Spangler, noted as acct 010-550-454 Auto Repair. If you take the $468.99 charge that has been initialed by Larry Spangler, and subtract the $37.86 that has been marked through you will see that the amount comes to exactly $431.13, which is the fraudulent charge. Yet the County Judge, all of the County Commissioners, and the County Auditor signed the P.O. approving the charges for payment from our county taxpayers money.

This really makes the cover-up become visible from County Attorney Val Varley's office all the way through the Sheriff's Department, and approved and signed off on by all of the members of our Red River County Commissioners Court.

Royce Abbott confronted the County Judge with the documentation on Wed June 28, 2007, and do you know what our good judge said? He said that it was not his place to investigate this sort of occurrence. I ask you, if our county judge Morris Harvill knew about this, and signed off on the purchase order approving it then denies having any responsibility to stop the fraud, is he not part of it? Our commissioners all knew about this when they signed the Purchase Order, but have done nothing about it! Does this not make them part of the cover-up of the fraud? The only one who said anything about it, and carried it to the County Attorney was Shirley Anderson, but she also signed off on the Purchase Order. I hate to ask the question, but does that make her part of the cover-up also, and a part of the fraud, although she did try to do something about it?

Makes you wonder who has power over her to make her approve a P.O., if she brought the fraudulent charge into the open! At least her actions got the county paid back for the fraud perpetrated by Kris Spangler, and Larry Spangler!

If the commissioners, county attorney, county judge, and sheriff's department would allow something like this to be done, and cover it up, what else has been going on in this county government that is probably 100 times worse that has been covered up. This is just the tip of the horrendous Iceberg taxpayers!! Seems to me they would stop at NOTHING, and do ANYTHING !!! If they are all capable of lying, cheating, stealing, and covering it up for each other, they are capable of ANYTHING and EVERYTHING!!! Don't you agree?

WE HAVE CRIMINALS RUNNING OUR COUNTY GOVERNMENT! WE HAVE THE MOST CORRUPT COUNTY GOVERNMENT IN THE STATE OF TEXAS!!!!

If this fraud had not been brought to the attention of this website in the first place, Royce Abbott would have not known about the fraud, and he would not have known to pull the open records and investigate the fraud committed by Larry Spangler, and all of those involved in covering it up.

By the way, our County Judge, Morris Harvill told Royce that he would initiate a Grand Jury investigation into this, but if it is like the other Grand Jury investigations (Kim Dagenhart Rape Case and others, as the Grand Jury is run by our Corrupt Criminal County Attorney Val Varley) all the guilty will not have anything done to them about the fraud against the taxpayers or the cover-up committed by our County Attorney Val Varley, the Sheriff's Department, and the Commissioners Court. It's hard to get a prosecution when the criminals are the justice system!

has it that the Clarksville Volunteer Fire Department lost approximately $8,100.00 after what I understand was a burglary at Brad Varley's Insurance Co. last Monday Night. My source tells me that Brad Varley is in charge of the CVFD funds, and after the rodeo took the funds home for safe keeping until they could be deposited into the Bank when it opened on Monday. The source tells me that Mr. Varley took the money to his office Monday morning, but failed to deposit it into the bank, and left the money in his office when he left last Monday evening. During the night someone burgled the office, and now the money is gone. I am sure there are a lot of sick, angry volunteer fireman after all the work they put into the yearly rodeo to have their proceeds pilfered so easily!

I have been informed that Rotary Club money was also taken from the office, and that there was some baseball team money. From what I understand the baseball money was hidden inside a box, inside another box under a desk. There was nothing else taken, no computers, no artwork, nothing..... just money totaling nearly $9,000.00. Nothing else was really torn up. Whoever took it knew exactly where every bit of the money was, and did not bother anything else.

STRANGE HUH?

6/29/2007 I was told toady that the person arrested by Law Enforcement for this crime had a television set worth $3000.00, and $1,900.00 in cash. That is what I was told was recovered. Can anyone tell me where the $4,100 difference went too? HUMMMM.......

A small preview taste of what is coming!

The credit card abuse is going to be very revealing. When the documents are posted everything will be plain. I know that there are a lot of rumors, and propaganda being spread by Commissioner Josef Hausler, but as usual his words are pure manure. Remember he is a Bobble Head and all he can do is agree with the S.O. He has an interest in keeping the corruption as quiet as possible, and is spreading the manure of cover-up as usual.

Josef smells as bad Uncle Larry, Sheriff Terry, and "Valerie"

If Josef Hausler would get his butt out of the County Clerks office and quit doing surveying work and instead do county business, he would still be a bobble head, because he and David Barnett are big supporters of Uncle Larry, as is Tim Shimpock. Tim Shimpock has been heard to say that he would lie under oath in court, and keep on lying to save Uncle Larry, by more than just one person. That's because he has strong ties to Uncle Larry, that he doesn't want him to tell. That also proves how much Tim Shimpock respects the Law, the Courts, and the Rights of the People of Red River County. Word has it that Tim is going to run for sheriff in the next race, and all ya'll really need to vote him in knowing that information!

(Hey Uncle Larry and Sheriff Terry, I have some big chug holes down on the white rock end of my county road that you can fill with some of that shit, cause Hausler damn sure isn't going to fill um.)

Don't believe Josef, there was criminal intent because Uncle Larry did not intended to pay back the charge, and it is against the law anyway to use a credit card that is not yours. Those lies Josef is spreading are as bald as he is. The documents prove that it was somewhere around 40 something days before the check was delivered to pay back the county. Even though you will see a date on the check from the Spangler account, don't be deceived by the date on it, because documentation will prove that it was backdated as part of the cover-up. Larry Spangler had absolutely no intention to pay back that money, and he would not have paid it back had the charge not been caught.

Then Uncle Larry scurried to pay it back by backdating a check to make everyone think it was a mistake that he had accidentally used the card. That won't work either because he was not the one that signed the credit receipt! Uncle Larry is as full of SHIT as Hausler. The cover-up even went so far that a Purchase Order was issued by the Sheriff's Office (it is not dated) to aid the cover-up of the criminal activity. That is all for now, this is just a taste. We pick up the events back in the Conway Administration. If we take a look back there was a rape of an inmate named Kim Dagenhart, by a Deputy who took her to the hospital for a cut on the head. She was in handcuffs, and Sheriff Jerry Conway in the deposition stated that Miss Dagenhart consented to the sex. The rapist under the protection of our Corrupt County Attorney Val Varley aka. "Valerie Varley" aka. "VV Express" using his prosecutorial discretion and possibly stacking the Grand Jury, got him off with 3 months in Jail for violating Miss Dagenhart's Civil Rights. We all know this was done because he is the brother-in-law of our current Justice of the Peace Shelly Benton, who at the time was the clerk of the J.P. Court under J. R. Lewis. Then we have the Commissioners Court Records on the Appointment of Terry Reed Sheriff, when Ex-Deputy John Lorance stands up in Commissioners Court, and states that "Larry Spangler" ordered him and other officers to violate Red River County Citizens Civil Rights, by fabricating probable cause during traffic stops for searches, seizures, and arrests, to justify his own means . Then he states that Spangler, other officers, and a convicted inmate destroyed a meth lab for Judge Peek's son, who was never arrested or prosecuted for that lab.

Then we have the prosecution of Jimmie Townsend, and the certain probability that the whole case against him was staged to shut him and his looking into the Drug Lab that was destroyed by the Sheriff's Department, and other elected officials along with the probability of a cover-up of the criminal conduct of all involved by the whole just-us system of Red River County from the top to the bottom.

Next there are the jailers letters which state infractions of Jail Standards where there should be 1 guard per 48 inmates, yet Sheriff Reed has made it his practice to have only 1 dispatcher with 2 correctional officers (jailers) on the afternoon - evening shift, and 1 dispatcher with 1 correctional officer (jailer) on the third late night - early morning shift. During shifts with only 1 Dispatcher with 1 correctional officer (jailer) the dispatcher is tending up to 15 inmates while manning phones, addressing visitors and their concerns, all while operating the NLETS/TLETS (Criminal History Background Computer), local computer, and maintaining the priority of the radio, which guards the integrity of officer and the public safety. Then during the afternoon - evening shift the 2nd correctional officer floats to help the dispatcher while leaving the other jailer to oversee 70 male inmates located in a separate part of the jail. These practices are against Texas Jail Standards, and a violation by Sheriff Reed. Sheriff Reed also allows inmates to purchase cigarettes, and smoke inside the jail which is endangering the health of the employees, and causing a fire hazard by disabling the fire alarm, which endangers the lives of everyone in the jail, jailers and inmates alike.

Then we have myself leaving the Crime Stoppers because the Sheriff's Office would do nothing with the tips, and even the Clarksville Police Department had officers going around tipping off the criminals that they had been turned in by a Crime Stopper tipster. I sent a letter to the Criminal Justice Division of the Governors Office about this, and named the names! The dispatchers letter stating that the SO would not do anything with a hit. Then there is the CI002 Shawn McCullough, Informant that has put Clarksville SO right up there with the Tulia Texas Police Department by pumping up drug arrests that are based on lies, and bad Investigative practices and even worse evidence storage and handling at the Sheriff's Office. The Conviction of Tracy Eugene Reeves springs to mind where there was really no evidence presented in the Revocation Hearing showing guilt, but our JUST-US System sent him back to prison.

Next there is the Fiasco of the Sheriff Letting Inmates (Jason Meredith for one) leave the jail to go home for the weekend unguarded. We were tipped that the Sheriff was letting inmates come and go from the jail like it had a revolving door, and it was about that time that the Court House was broken into... during the Sheriff's Race. That crime has never been solved, do you think it could have been an inmate. Plus the courthouse is right across from the Sheriff's Office. Makes you wonder with all of them always sitting out front smoking why no one saw a thing.

There is also the Indictment of Rufus Ward. Have you ever wondered why they indicted him? I think it is because Rufus is probably the only HONEST Commissioner on the Commissioner's court. I believe they indicted him, and still have the case on the books so they can keep him quite. Hell, the "VV Express keeps continuing the case, because he knows he has nothing and it would be detrimental to their health if it came to trial. I know the facts, and believe me it would be detrimental to all of them (except Rufus)!!! I don't know about all of you, but I am sick and tired of our Spineless Commissioners Court. We have given them all they need to do something about the Graff and Corruption in the Red River County Sheriff's Department. Everyone always asks "What can we do to help stop the Corruption in Red River County. I am about to tell you.

If you and your friends and family like what Uncle Larry and his "Sidekick Sheriff" Terry Reed are doing, which is "anything" and "everything" at your expense (it's your tax dollars, and the county taxpayers monies from drug busts, and confiscations they are using for personal gain)" then you need to silently go about your business and say NOTHING!

Now then, if you are tired of their pilfering, sex games (Maroon Drawers), and thievery, (buying tires with taxpayer money for their personal vehicle, and no telling what else) and you want it stopped, then here is what you need to do.

The commissioners court handles the purse strings for every county department. Everything, and I mean everything that is spent must be approved by the commissioners court. These guys have the power to shut down spending (not that they will do anything because they are corrupt also or they would have already done something). Now here is what you need to do. Call your commissioners, not just yours but all of them because the County Sheriff's Department is a county wide department. Call the County Judge, Call "Valerie Varley Express". Tell them that "I am a taxpayer, and voter and I am tired of the corruption in the Sheriff's Department and I want something done, and if you don't I'll remember your disinterest when you come up for election." That is all you have to do. Call both home and cell numbers.

Open Record Requests Filed

On Thursday, May 31, 2007 an open record request was filed with Shirley Anderson for the Credit Card Statements for the Sheriff's Office. There was also another filed with the County Clerks Office. The 2 requests were very similar because they are just a request for some copies of paperwork/bills. It is amazing that the request from Lorie Moose's office was filled on Friday with her usual efficiency. There was no wait from the County Clerk's office. Period! The Cooperation is very much appreciated Lorie!

But as usual, when it comes to things that someone wants covered up, (the purchase of tires illegally on the County Credit Card by Larry Spangler) there seems to be a drag in the feet of the County Auditor Shirley Anderson, although it is not for sure just yet that feet are being dragged. I hope that we have moved beyond that Shirley. I was beginning to think that you might just be all right, and that you were maybe moving over to the the open government camp. It would be very cooperative on your part, and we would be very appreciative if the County Auditor would produce the requested Open Records promptly.

I hope we do not have to go through the same old things that have had to be done in the past to get results! They are not enjoyable to anyone. Is the County Judge telling you what to do, even though he is a newbie? How about cooperating without all the frictions of the past........ You know the fight, and the score from the past. I am sure that neither of us wants to re-live the past. I don't think that you are "in" with the Sheriff's Office and those criminals. Surely not after what the idiots in the Just-Us system are trying to do to your brother Rufus, and in that particular case, I am definitely on your side.

After reading about the situation involving Delores Mitchell and her mother, I can only say one thing. That is a civil matter and for law enforcement to get involved in a civil matter is a serious liability not only to the taxpayers but to our rights as American Citizens.

but this is Red River County and the Sheriff and Chief Deputy can do anything that they want, As evident by the previous letters and Lack of action by the Red River County Commissioners.

It seems to me that whole crooked bunch had no problems railroading Glenda Garrison right out that door did they? Everybody knows that She was an honest person.

but you let the Sheriff and Chief Deputy break the law and they are untouchable.

Looks like to me, if they are going to run the county like that, they should turn all those prisoners in the jail loose and quit being such hypocrites. If I had a family member in that jail, I'd be calling the FBI, Attorney General's Office or Texas Rangers wanting to know why my family member was in jail and being held there by a sheriff and chief deputy who obviously have no regard for the law.

Has anyone considered holding a protest. Carrying Picket signs and picketing the Red River County Commissioners Meetings and the Sheriff's Office and calling the newspapers, and television stations and bringing some real attention on this mess?
I always did say "Everyone Loves a Circus".
Maybe that's the only way to get the Sheriff to resign and the Chief Deputy out of there.

Larry Spangler, and Terry Reed have broken the law. Neither have the guts to do what is right!! They have another kind of gut. The proof is in the reading of the Statements. Larry Spangler was allowed by Reed "While on his Watch" to break the law by purchasing 4 new tires for his personal vehicle on the County Credit Card. We believe that this is not the first time he has abused the County Credit Card Either! He ran a Criminal History on Candidate for Sheriff Royce Abbott illegally, and Reed, Perkins, and Varley helped cover it up when open record requests were filed. It is as much Terry Reed's fault for letting it happen, as it was Larry Spangler's for doing it. Reed broke the law by harboring a fugitive and aiding in the necessary steps for her to avoid arrest, and he helped Larry Spangler get by with his offenses! If one is allowed to remain, the corruption will continue, because they both are corrupt!!

It is time to clean out the criminals that are running the Sheriff's Department, and have an election to actually elect a "True, Real Sheriff", and I don't mean one of the "IDIOTS" from here that is in Law Enforcement now. We also don't need the "Commissioners" to appoint another "IDIOT" either!

The "appointments" of the past prove their choices are pure crap, to aid in the continuing "cover-up" of the "lies and deceit" of the Red River County Government!

"It is time for Both Terry Reed and Larry Spangler to RESIGN." If one criminal is allowed to stay, the Corruption, deceit, and lies will continue!

The people should have the choice, and we will watch the election very closely this time............

Since it was in the River, it is Oklahoma's jurisdiction. Latest update is that the body was a male, had a lariat rope around his feet, and had one shot to the head. This came from someone that I believe would know, so we will have to see.... You know how Red River County Government likes to keep us all in the dark.....

It is sorta like the Commissioners meeting in the Closet instead of out in the open where everything should be (at least by law) in Government, well, at least most of it should be!

After reading the updates I must say people are finally getting tired of this "Just Us System" and it's about time the people of this county stood up to those crooks that are in office.

You know reading about the remark by Tim Shimpock brings back memories of what a very close friend of his told in a public place after Alton Peek was murdered, and at the same time he and his wife Darlena were working under Bob Edrington. This is when the computer mess surfaced also and Bob Storey was going in as Sheriff . Darlena said Bob was gona let her go from the County Sheriff department; that's when she moved to the City and School. To make a long story short, there was talk about Alton's death and Darlena loosing her job. This friend was talking about the computer that Darlena used at the Sheriff's dept, and her exact words were "Darlena said she took everything pertaining to her work, and Alton's death off her computer, and that if Bob Story could play dirty {meaning firing her} she could play that game too" and she would like to see him solve Alton's death without her information "I will say as others have said, I believe The Shimpock's, Spangler, Edrington, one of our commissioner's, then County Judge L. D. Williamson, then district attorney Jack Herrington, and an investigator for the DA's office

know who the coward was that murdered him. Unfortunately, a dead person cannot talk so some think? We all know what a Jackass of a Texas Ranger Red River County has had for so many years is .

Mr. Humphrey never put that Wall Mart Shopping bag over his own head and killed his self either. His daughter was small then and the Shimpock's took her to Avery school with their child. The amazing question that has always stuck in my mind was " how did the Shimpock's daughter know the little girl's dad was dead before the daughter knew?

The school counselor even knew what had upset the little girl. I suppose if she gave a statement the Texas Ranger for Red River County disregarded it too because the Shimpock's and the ones mentioned in this article are all just alike. I as others, believe they know who pulled the trigger. It's like one said Tim Shimpock was once a cattle rustler and that's not all him and her was. Now he shares an office with the Justice of peace Shelly Benton on the citizen's tax dollars.

Oh, As for Queen Ann misappropriating money, she's had a real good teacher and advisor. You know someone told it awhile back, the reason they don't attend the City council meetings more than what they do is because a Mr. Jack Parks cannot comment on one thing. If Queen Ann don't like what he says she corrects him or makes a smart remark to him in open council meetings. Mr. Parks should get her aside and tell her "Look if you don't like the answers I give for my honest opinion, I was Elected by the people and for the people so get the Hell off of my ass!"

It might do more good if he spoke it openly because she's good at calling for the police to remove people from the council room if she's talked back too. She's just a big ole liar like the rest of the crooks in this historical town. I do hope visitors will come see the Queen Ann's Throne and all the water the side walks are gona hold and God help the handy capped people.

Hey! I saw where the dumpster had been moved. Who took it and where did it go? I was told bottled water had to be bought for Jurors because they would not drink the City's water. Bet if the truth was known Queenie don't drink it either, and Bishop and Mr. Smith probably prefer other drinks??

Keep up the good work because this is the only way lot's of folk have of knowing what's going on in the town and county with our appointed and elected officials, because we all know that the truth would never be printed in that big Clarksville News paper. Someone from the county told me the other day they would not be a subscriber after they're paper runs out, they are tired of reading the Message from the Mayor.

I’ve lived in Red River County for many years and I can honestly say, things have never been this bad. The Sheriffs Office has become a cesspool of blatant corruption. My heart goes out to the few honest and decent people who are desperately trying to keep the boat afloat.

It would seem the old saying "Give a person enough rope …………." is unfolding as we watch. The truth is, "the clique" as they are known, have become a liability not only to the tax payers but to "others" (who really run this county) as well.
It would seem that if "One" was involved in shady dealings that "One" would have sense enough to keep a low profile and not continuously call attention to---Themselves or the office they control eh?

Larry Spangler abuses RR County Credit Card for Personal Gain

Here is something that might be of interest to you and the taxpayers-- that can be verified through an open records request at the Court House Annex.

1 month -2 months ago Larry Spangler used the RRCO Visa Card to purchase a set of tires for his personal vehicle. He stated to me that he paid it back about a month later. It is unknown if he really paid it or if he thought it would slide by. I know the County gets the tires from Bill Bass Tires in Paris. I doubt Larry Spangler even has a credit card to even get confused with with the County's Credit Card.

Regardless, this was his personal vehicle and the credit card stated RED RIVER COUNTY and I am sure whoever waited on him had some question about that.

Isn't this Credit Card Abuse???? another Felony???

From what I can find, use of a Red River County Sheriff's Office Credit Card for anything personal is not allowed by law. Even if he said he would pay it back, using it for a set of personal tires is credit card abuse to me. What if he paid it back, it seems that it is still be against the law to use a Red River County Sheriff's Office Credit Card to purchase personal items. If Sheriff Reed authorized him to do this, then it seems to me that Sheriff Reed authorized an abuse of the Counties Credit Card, and is an accomplice. It really doesn't matter if anyone authorized it, because the credit card belongs to the taxpayers of Red River County, and no official should have the right to authorize anyone to purchase anything that is not for official use, or official business. Tires for a personal vehicle are not for official use, or official business. What makes Larry Spangler or Terry Reed any better than those they have locked up for abusing someone else's credit card. Maybe those criminals intended to pay back their abuses also, but the law does not look at it that way, and it should be no different for them.

Let's take a look at it this way, Commissioner Rufus Ward was indicted because of several things that are really petty. One thing he was accused of doing was taking an old used tire that belonged to the county and putting it on his personal vehicle. See Rufus Ward Indictment If he can be indicted and prosecuted for a old used County Tire on his personal vehicle, then it seems a lot worse to me that Larry Spangler used a Red River County Sheriff's Office credit card, and purchased 4 new tires for one of his personal vehicles. Who really cares whether he was going to pay it back or not...... it seems a lot worse to me to use County Credit to purchase something new for private personal use.

Are we as taxpayers a bank that fronts credit to Larry Spangler, or any other County Employee who carries a Red River County Credit Card. I don't know about you, but I am tired of anyone and everyone in this county government abusing the hard earned tax dollars that I pay.

They sent school personnel to prison in Dallas for the same thing!!!! The Red River County Just-Us system sent Chief Jimmy Townsend to prison for basically the same thing. Why are Spangler and Reed still in the Sheriff's office, when they have broken the law? They violated the rights of the County Treasurer, and removed her from office. What makes Reed and Spankie any different than any other criminals?

As far as I am concerned, Larry Spangler is abusing the power of his position for his personal gain, and from what we are seeing is involved in official misconduct on the job, and probably off the job. We can also see that Sheriff Terry Reed has knowledge of, or is committing dereliction of his duties, and abuse of power as Sheriff of Red River County, by not coming to work, and not supervising his employees, and harboring a fugitive. The main reason we have a Sheriff is to protect and serve, and oversee justice, not abuse and neglect. Read the Citizen Opinion's. These opinions are coming from someone who knows what is and has been going on in the Red River County Sheriff's Department.

Therefore I, Ernest Henslee a legitimate Red River County Taxpayer, citizen, and voter DEMAND the Resignation's of both Sheriff Terry Reed, and Chief Deputy Larry Spangler. If the Citizens of this County are Fed up with this corruption and misconduct and want a descent law abiding Sheriff's Office, then you need to join in the outcry.

If the Commissioners have any sense of right and wrong, (which I am not sure that they have anymore) are not involved in corruption themselves, and are looking out for the best interest of the Taxpayers of Red River County, they will call a special meeting, and they will vote unanimously to call in the Federal Bureau of Investigation to investigate the Sheriff's Department thoroughly from top to bottom, and I as a taxpayer, citizen and voter hereby DEMAND them to vote to call in the FBI from the regional office in Dallas for a complete investigation of all activities at the Sheriff's Department, and wherever else it leads within the Red River County Government, or be seen as derelict in their duty as commissioners and County Judge in guarding against misuse of our tax dollars, and official misconduct.

This is my notice to the Commissioners Court of the abuse, fraud, and misconduct.

From past experience, I as a taxpayer and citizen do not want the Texas Rangers Involved. I personally don't trust them, especially Texas Ranger Roger Lough, or his superiors. Anyone else from past experience in my opinion will probably just aid in the cover-up!!!!

Then we need a true election, not the sham of the Commissioners Court "appointing" someone to just keep right on committing the same corruption, and cover-up of the lies. If the commissioners could pick the person who could do the job, we would not have had all the corruption of the past administrations in the Sheriff's Department or the present. Remember the Kim Dagenhart rape. I believe that more may have occurred since then, and violations of the Federal Ruling that is in place.

It is time for the voters to be allowed to pick their Sheriff in a true legal above board election, and not one of lies and deceit, after he has been first appointed by the commissioners court. It is time for the "appointments" to end and the "elections" to begin!!!!

Now is the time to take a stand Commissioners Rufus Ward, Elmer Caton, David Barnett, Josef Hausler and County Judge Morris Harville. Is the Commissioners Court a part of the problem, or a solution for it? The ball is in your court now Honorable Commissioners and County Judge.

Let the taxpayers see your true colors!!!!

Larry Spangler boasted about running the Criminal History on Sheriff Candidate, Royce Abbott. This wasn't done for Criminal Justice purposes---it was done for political gain. This is a criminal offense for all involved. The dispatcher who did this questioned him about this but she ran it anyway .

These records are suppose to be signed by the operator who ran it, the officer who received it and it lists what agency requested the information. If this is not recorded in the Red River County Official log then they seem to have forgotten that Austin keeps a record of every computer transaction by every agency requesting information.

Editorial: This is fact. It is the real deal. This is a criminal offense. This is the PROOF!! This is a statement of facts folks! This Sheriff's Department will stop at nothing to cover up their illegal criminal activities, and it is not just happening in the sheriff's department, the whole county government is corrupt.

We told the voters during the election that this was done for political gain, and some of you did not believe it. We have the facts now, and this is going..... The Sheriff's department used this illegally, and committed a crime while doing it, and everyone involved should get just what is coming to them.

The reason that the law is on the books is so that innocent people who have been arrested unjustly will not be slandered by an arrest report that should have never been issued. Now we know who did it!!! Larry Spangler, and everyone involved down the line.

Lost Warrants, and Maroon Drawers

Mid-way through the school year a Red River County Deputy had a warrant issued against that deputy through JP court for allowing this deputy's minor child to be truant from school. The Issuing Officer was the School Resource Officer. Larry Spangler was told numerous times that there was a problem, and that the school was riding the resource officer about this warrant against this deputy. Larry did nothing despite the fact the resource officer was angry, trying to be fair and impartial. Even though the warrant was issued out of JP court, Larry stated that he could not do this to his Deputy, and the warrant disappeared. At that time other parents had warrants issued and served on them for the same thing. It is unknown if Sheriff Reed was even there to know about this because he won't bother to come to work to even gain knowledge of what's going on. I doubt it would've made a difference because Larry Spangler runs the show.

I am interested to know if your readers would approve of the fact that Larry Spangler had his old desk refinished at the tax payers expense because it held "beautiful memories". This desk had to be refinished by a Trustee Inmate before he was released from RRCO Jail. Larry told everyone about an affair that had a connection to that desk. He said that he was caught by his spouse because his crush contacted her, and told her to check his underwear because they were maroon. Larry said that he learned a lot on that day because now he wears nothing but whities. His advise was to cheat one time, but don't go back for seconds! What were Sheriff Reed's intentions....... We Really Cannot be sure...... Only his actions can tell us, but if Keeping Spangler was one of them, they weren't too good!!!!!

Click Here He hasn't done anything to make law-enforcement in Red River County better. In fact it is getting steadily worse because he has turned the department over to Larry Spangler! If Terry Reed had been running the department all this time without Spangler, things might have been different, who knows. I think maybe Sheriff Reed had good intentions in the beginning, but with all of the corruption present, even if he did, he didn't have a chance. We did not elect, but I believe the commissioners court knew they "appointed" Larry Spangler Sheriff, because they needed someone to keep the cover on all the corruption!!!! Reed was, as I have said before just a figurehead, and a pawn!

I don't care what is said, I believe the election was thrown by tampering with the electronic voting machines, we know it wasn't done with the paper ballots!

When our Sheriff Terry Reed was appointed as Sheriff he was harboring his wife Susan as a fugitive. She had a felony warrant supposedly for forgery from a different county. He went so far as to aid her in knowledge that she could not go to the Drivers License office to get her DL renewed or her "wanted" status would come back, and she would be arrested immediately.

After being appointed Sheriff, his wife had a wreck here in Red River County. A Department of Public Safety Trooper was called to work this wreck as it is the job of DPS. Contact was made through the Sheriff's wife to him and he quickly responded to the scene. She was driving with no drivers license, and no insurance. She was the cause of the wreck and had at the time this felony warrant. It is unknown if the Sheriffs wife's vehicle was towed. It definitely should've been as this is common practice. Sheriff Reed then took his wife into custody, because he had no other choice in the matter, and transported her to the Sheriff's Department where everything was handled under "The Veil of Secrecy". It was told to everyone at the S.O. by Larry Spangler, who boasted to everyone that he told the Sheriff that he had better take care of this business way before it had come to light. It is UNKNOWN what name she was booked under or how she was released. Editors note: ( If she was booked in under an assumed name to hide her status, this is probably also a crime, "Falsification of Government Documents". Only a thorough investigation by a true law enforcement investigator will show what laws were broken, and who broke them, and I don't mean that Stupid Ass Texas Ranger we have here either.) We need to see an impartial FBI agent from somewhere other than this neck of the woods to thoroughly investigate the S.O. and County Govt.

Kinda looks bad for the poor folks that have to stay in jail, with their names given to the Clarksville Times for the weekly Activity Report so that everyone knows who they are. The poor folks have to suffer while this incident is swept under the table when it is Sheriff Reed's wife.

I wonder just how many people have been arrested by Sheriff Reed and Larry Spangler for Harboring a Fugitive who received no special treatment?

I believe that Larry as well as Terry could be in violation of this law.

This is just another example of the "just-us system and the good ole boys" giving "special treatment" to those in their little "clique". I was informed through a confidential source many months ago, that Sheriff Reed told the gentleman who his wife hit, that he would take care of the damages. When the gentleman tried to collect Sheriff Reed said it was too damn much, and that he wasn't going to pay. He changed his tune after he thought about it, and Reed's father paid off the charges on the gentleman's truck.

This is just another travesty of justice perpetrated by our "supposed law enforcement system", and this time it was committed directly by our good sheriff with a direct benefit to his immediate family. If this violation is a 3rd. Degree Felony who would prosecute it? Certainly not the "VV Express", cause he is probably up to his nose in a lot of the same corruption going on in the Just-Us system, and the government!!

If they won't hesitate to break the law in this way, what else is going on in the S.O., and our Just-Us System? Stay tuned to this channel!!

Is that supposed felony arrest warrant still out there, and is Larry and Terry still harboring a fugitive, and impeding justice?

Dear Mr. Henslee

I just finished reading your editorial about the Sheriff's Office. After reading your website, I can only come to one conclusion. It looks like the Sheriff has a real mess on his hands and either he is stupid or he doesn't care. As a citizen and taxpayer I am shocked. No wonder there are so many unsolved crimes. May I ask, just what are the duties of the Sheriff and his administration? Is it not the duty of the Sheriff to oversee everything that is going on in his department? If so, just what in the hell is the problem over there? Is the Sheriff not doing his job?

I have solved one of the Sheriff's problems.

Get the commissioners to hand out vouchers to the administration to who ever wants them over there for the cat houses in Dallas.

It looks like to me, it is time for a taxpayer tea party.

No, Larry Spangler is Running the Sheriff's Department, and the Sheriff is just a figure head. That's why things are so screwed up over there, the Sheriff was not experienced enough to run the department in the first place is the reason the Commissioner's "Appointed" him to the position. This whole thing was done to cover up all the illegal activities that are going on over there now, and the even bigger one in the past! It lets all of the RR Government carry on as usual!

MY DAD HAS BEEN RELEASED ! ! ! ! ! ! On the afternoon of May 15, 2007, my dad was released from that HELL HOLE! As you know, I live in Austin, so I was pointed in the RIGHT DIRECTION by a friend that referred me to the Texas Rangers. I called an Investigator with the Texas Rangers, told him the entire story, gave him names, and less than ONE HOUR, my dad was released ! ! ! ! ! I also informed the Ranger about your website and told him if HE WANTED to read interesting material, to PLEASE READ it. He said he DEFINITELY would.

Yes, my dad has been released and it is NO THANKS to the mean, malicious, rude, nasty, inhuman, beastly, pernicious, VENOMOUS and EVIL personnel who "supposedly" are employed by the county. Just to name a few in that HELL HOLE, Sandy, Kathleen, Shaun, Betty, Melinda, Galya Vickers (nurse) and Robert Nolen (the baliff), who literally knocked my dads cap off his head when he was booked. I do have to say there was one who ACTUALLY had a heart (Jessica, thank you for being nice). The rest of you I named, I hope someday, you will be in a situation and you HAVE TO SUFFER, just like we did.

LISTEN PEOPLE, if you have a problem, KEEP seeking help until you get your issue resolved, especially, if you KNOW your issue is WRONG! Go allllllllllllllllllllll the way to the top. Don't let it stop until you get results.

The appointed officials in RR River County are heartless. They are LIARS! Everything they told us for one solid week, numerous times a day, were lies.

And, to top it off, my dad was in SOLITARY CONFINEMENT! I honestly think they WERE trying to KILL HIM, and if we had not got him out, HE WOULD HAVE DIED! The entire staff at the Sheriffs Dept. passed the buck and did not do ANYTHING they told us they were doing. Now that my father is out, we KNOW how he was mistreated and abused.

Thank you Mr. Henslee for all the help you rendered. We the family, do appreciate it. Keep up the posts on your website because EVERYONE is reading it.

I am appreciative of the influence of the Texas Ranger that you spoke to, who did see the right thing was done! Citizen Questioning Favoritism!

It has come to my attention that the newly promoted employee talked about in one of your previous postings (that was promoted over other more experienced and senior employees) is driving her S.O. vehicle home every day. The reason that I am bringing this to your attention is that she lives in Titus County. None of the other deputies / investigators has ever been allowed to drive their vehicles out of the county!! Is this part of the favoritism that you have talked about?

This vehicle for sure is an S.O. vehicle. It has concealed lights inside, radio etc. I know that the tag is a regular tag instead of a Exempt Tag, because it is an unmarked vehicle. I know that this vehicle was purchased used from a local dealer, and them modified by the Sheriff's Department for the S.O.'s use.

Since no other department deputies / investigators have ever been allowed to take their vehicles out of the county to their homes (this has for sure been a rule up to now), why all of a sudden are the taxpayers paying for gas for this employee to drive back and forth from Titus County to work, especially when gas prices are near $3.00 per gallon. If this is not favoritism, I do not know what the hell it is. To prove that this is a county S.O. vehicle, it can usually be found at the S.O. from around 8:00 a.m. until around 4 or 5:00 p.m. Monday - Friday. The rest of the time, it can be seen parked at this employees home in Talco, which is in Titus County. Besides all of this, why is is sitting at the S.O. instead of being out on the job?

I just thought that all of the taxpayers in this county would like to know that we are now footing the gasoline bills for the newly promoted employee to get back and forth to work from Titus County. If this isn't favoritism what would you call it?See Proof of Ownership
