Sheriff Terry Reed gives his opinion.... and My Response
|
Message from a Citizen to Mr. Freddy
Booker and the Red River County Sheriff's Department!!!
December 2006 To Red River County Sheriff's Office and all local government offices including Bogata Police Department. My name is Sissi Stroud and I am the manager of the 4-way stop & Go in Bogata, Texas. This past week I have had four different customers come into the store and tell the story that Mr. Freddy Booker is going around asking people if drugs are being sold out of the store, and my home. I have tried to call Mr. Booker several times this morning, 12-29-06, up until around 9:30 am to discuss this with him. I was repeatedly told that he was not in. I would like to state publicly that there are no drugs being sold out of the store, or my home. I would not have spent time graduating from the police academy myself if I were that type of person. We are working hard to build a reputation for being a friendly home town store, and all the constant rumors and harassment must stop. I don't see these things happening to any other convenience store in this county.
So, if the people of Red River County are looking for drugs.......... You are looking in the wrong place!! It's not that hard to see where the drugs are really running in this county if you only open your eyes.....
Thank You,
Respectfully
Sissi Stroud

E-Mail Opinion from Ruby Raye This is so true. All these officials care about is power and money, and what they can get by with. They damn sure don't care about the citizens. December 25, 2006

Sheriff's Office (Royce Abbott) (Rating *) Request Filled, (10 day time frame elapsed) Received after 10 day time frame. I was not specific enough. When you are dealing with open records request, you have to be very specific in time frames and what information you want. I missed putting Royce Abbott's name on the second part of the request, so it seemed to them like I was asking for all of their correspondence, which I was not. This will give an excuse to not fill the request. If you don't put a time frame it will also give an excuse to not fill the request. These were done hurriedly, so I made mistakes.
Editorial Response to Deputy Shane Joplin's Opinion Letter dated 4/25/2006 01:04 Thank You for writing Shane. EH
E-Mail Opinion from Shane Joplin Reserve Sheriff's Deputy This is in response to the E-Mail Opinion from Jimmy Mauldin. EH
E-Mail Opinion from Jimmy Mauldin This letter was turned into, but not published by the Clarksville Times. Jimmy had no other place to rebut the letter from Ex-Sheriff Conway's daughter. This is but one reason this forum is available. EH
E-Mail Opinion from Citizen Thank you for writing this opinion, It is definitely a serious problem when law abiding citizens have to be afraid to put their names on their opinions, but the criminals are allowed to go free.
E-Mail Opinion from Citizen This just could possibly save the county money! Thanks for your opinion.
E-Mail Opinion from Another EX SO Dispatcher Thanks for your opinion, and feel free to write in as often as you feel necessary.
E-Mail Opinion by Deputy Shawn Roden I appreciate you writing in with your opinion Shawn, and feel free to do it at any time. I am going to respond to your opinion, because you are a law enforcement official. Response to Shawn
4/8/2006 County Inmates Come and Go from Jail Like it has a Revolving Door Geeze Louise, Think..... Is this the tip of a bigger iceberg? FINAL
4/12/2006 13:30 I got a call stating that the sheriff's office and constable are out somewhere generating a lot of activity on the Public Service. They know people listen to them on their scanners. I was told that normally they would call in on a land line checking up on vin numbers and the like that they are running over the Public Service. This is probably an attempt at making people think that they are "Doing Something" rather than just sitting on their backsides. Let them whop and holler. We all know what is going on, and this is not the change that the 1,162 voters are looking for!!! Start running calls when people call in for help. I have had one person tell me a call was placed to the S.O. and a request for the help of a deputy was made because someone had possibly or was possibly in their house. Our law enforcement in their illustrious vision of being invincible, did not even bother to show up. "Where's the beef?", Sheriff, people of this county expect the professional law enforcement you promised us. Damn, you have to show up every day at the office to do that? The people expect more than "Shiny Beads and Shallow Flattery". RR County Justice Abounds!!!!
4/12/2006 14:27 By the Way, Just to let everyone know, the illegal background check that was run is not going to be dropped for any reason. We will find out where Perkins got this document, although with the VV Express running like it does, we can't count on anything being done about it.

E-Mail From Ex-Red River County SO Dispatcher I would like to say that I know that the Dispatchers at the SO do their jobs to the best of their ability, with the training, resources, and knowledge that is provided. I know they do their job's, but that it is the administration that doesn't care about the people of this County or the Employees who work the Jail. Thank you for your opinion, and the courage you have shown by sending it. EH
Are Inmates being Gouged on Commissary Prices? I am all for making money, but I would like an explanation of where the profits are being used that are made in the commissary.
Letters from the Jail Employees These letters were received by Jimmy Maulden. We appreciate your contribution Jimmy. You can tell by the way the letters are written that they come from someone who knows the Red River County Jail and its operation. Therefore the webmaster believes these letters to be authentic. He knows from talking with jail employees that the Appointed Acting Sheriff will fire a whistle blower, as will any county official who finds one. This is the reason these letters were submitted anonymously. I feel sorry for these employees that have to contend with a job like theirs, and then have the Appointed Acting Sheriff not care enough about their health to ban smoking in the jail. In Texas prisons, it is.........
Official Copies of Commissioners Court Meeting Appointing Terry Reed Acting Sheriff 5/2/2005 This is more than just interesting reading. It has a bomb in it. I ran across it in the files, and thought I would include it on the site. Some of you probably have never heard about the contents of this meeting.
