Deer Hunter Shot

Today another life was lost in Red River County, this time to a hunting accident or incident.

 

A deer hunter was reported shot on the Wagner ranch near Detroit, Texas this afternoon. Details of the shooting are sketchy at this time but it appears that the shooter left the area before authorities arrived.

It is unknown at this time if the shooting was accidental or it was one where someone saw movement, and fired at that movement.

I am told that Skip McBride, a supervisor with the Texas Department of Parks and Wild Life (sorry Skip I am not familiar with your title any more) is in charge of the investigation.  I assure you this is one shooting that occurred in Red River County that will be cleared.

 

My sympathy goes out to the family who has lost a loved one today, and to the family of the person responsible for this tragic incident  be it accidental, or poor judgment. You can rest assured both families are devastated, and both families will be scared by what has happened  just two days after the most  celebrated  family holiday of the year.
