I was informed that the appraisal district does not draw a percentage for collecting taxes.  Who really cares how they get their operating budget.  You are missing the point.  The point is, that if the Appraisal District has enough money salted away.....(evidently enough to buy land, and build a building) that their budget should be lowered, thus lowering our taxes. 

I have been trying to figure out what Red River County reminds me of, and I have finally come to the conclusion that this is a Monarchy.  The few families who rule this county are the Lords and Ladies, and they sit on all the boards.  The ones who are loyal to the Monarch (King) are always chosen for the Grand Jury, and it seems like they always are appointed when they need appointments to all the boards done by appointment.  They just rotate around from board to board, and do their thing, keeping any change or progress that will help the people of this county from happening, and keeping everything running status quo (or smooth as they like to say because they all work together).  Take a look at the appointments to the appraisal district boards.  They appoint the same people over and over again.  I am not sure just who the King is, but somewhere there is one.  Maybe someone out there can tell me.  I haven't quite figured that one out yet.

I don't know about all of you, but if you are not tired of having your eyes gouged out, and the King along with the Lords and Ladies lining their pockets then you are pretty blind.  They are always saying how poor this county is.  I can tell you that at one time the County had about 5 Million salted away in investments.  I know cause I saw the paperwork.  No telling what they have now.  They say that they need investments for emergencies, but come on now  do they really need that much?

It's Christmas Time.....  and all of you are trying to purchase presents for your kids and grand kids, plus keep the household running and buy your prescriptions, pay medical bills, and then pay the high gas prices so that you can get back to work, and you are about to pay TAXES again (Yes it is that time of year).  ARE YOU HAVING FUN, DO YOU HAVE A LOT OF MONEY IN INVESTMENTS???  It's time to draw the line on the spending in this county, and tell your so-called elected (Monarchy) and all their families that ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!!!!!!

So tell me again, Why do we care how the Appraisal District gets their money?  It is still YOUR tax dollars, and they are the one's spending it.....NOT YOU!!!!  It is time to tell them to SIT ON IT while they rotate!!
